Were you a bully in high school?
Yes. I was bullied (badly) in middle school. Hair pulled, tripped in hallway and down the stairs, glue on my seat, water in my locker, all that fun stuff. I was made fun of due to my ‘cheap clothes from China’ (we were very poor immigrant family at that time and all the kids wore Gap apparently). I feel like that experience turned me into a bully in high school. I hung out with all the wrong people, who did the same things that was done to me before. The worst part was I felt guilty about it each time, but proceeded with a smile. It wasn’t until senior year that I changed. Thankfully, during a high school reunion couple years back, I was able to apologize to those I bullied that they laughed it off. I still feel guilty till this day.

Gap in employment matter?
I worked 2 years as a RN prior to having my first child. Now she is a boob fiend who still refuses to take a bottle. I ended up quitting my job to be a stay at home mom. Original plan was to return to the work field after she weans for good at 1 years old or so. But I’ve been wanting to stay at home with her more and more. How hard would it be for me to find a job if I had an employment gap of say…2 years? I LOVE being a a nurse. But I also love being a mom. I’ve been struggling with this for weeks. A part of me hates feeling dependent on my husband for income. And I worry that it’s career suicide. But it’s such a blessing that I am even financially able to stay at home. Let me know your thoughts/experience.

What Certificates To Get for New RN
Hmm maybe there was a miscommunication on my part. I contacted the training sites for those certifications and was told I did not need clinical experience. Ill look into them more. I am applying to everything I can right now and brushing up my resume. Thank you!

NCLEX-RN 2019 Experience - PASSED in 75Q
I just found out I passed my NCLEX as well. YAY! My test closed at 75 questions and I thought to myself "NO WAY". I only used UWORLD to study and did so for about a month. My overall performance started at about 45% average correct and in the 60th percentile, and went up to 63% average and 92nd percentile. It seriously is a great tool!

Should I go off the "updated" information from U World?
I just took my NCLEX on the 20th this month and found out I passed yesterday. I recall seeing some updates on UWORLD around a month ago. Honestly, I felt like the NCLEX was somewhat different to UWORLD. The questions are worded differently. For example: In Uworld when there are drug questions, they tend to include "A patient is being treated for hypertension taking amlodipine". Whereas in the NCLEX, they will only say the drug name. I was a little spoiled by UWORLD as i relied on critical information it gives you such as the illness and I use that to guess what mechanism the drug may have. DONT BE LIKE ME! Study the rationales for the drugs and try to remember them without hints in the question. Know what they are because I got a lot of questions regarding drugs. Also, oddly enough, I did not get a single medical math problem. Otherwise, I strictly used only UWORLD and ended up passing after only studying for a month. Best of luck!

UWorld Practice Assessments - when should I take them?
I took my 1st one the second I got Uworld and scored horribly (Borderline, forgot the percentage). I took the 2nd one 2 weeks before my NCLEX date and scored in the 65th Percentile (Very High Chance of Passing). I found out I passed my NCLEX just couple days ago, 2 days after the test. YAY! All in all, I spent about a month studying before my exam. I graduated back in December and took 3 months off to study abroad and did not study AT ALL. After I came back, I only used UWORLD. I thought I'd fail since I took such a long break but I passed with 75 questions. YOU CAN DO IT!

What Certificates To Get for New RN
Hello All! I graduated with an ADN in Dec 2018 and passed my NCLEX just last week. I was wondering aside from ACLS and BLS certificates, what other ones would be helpful for a new RN with no experience? I was told to join a few nursing associations as well as signing up for some clinic volunteer work to make my resume look shiny. Anything else I should do? I also looked into TNCC (Trauma Certificate) and PALS, Critical Care Certificate. Are these good ideas?

ccsf spring 2017
I got my acceptance letter on the 21st. The office told me results go out last week of October to second week of November. I live 5 minutes from CCSF so maybe that's why I got it early. Good luck guys!

CCSF Fall 2016 Applicants
Does anyone know how many seats are available? 400 applicants actually don't sound like much compared to the last two years. I had a friend tell me that in 2014, they had over a thousand applicants.
