  1. Well do you know what type of Test it is? If its the NET test there is a study guide specifically made for that test written by the same authors who design the NET test. The website is http://www.eriworld.com/ and the book is titled 'Study Guide for the NET-HOBET-HELP'. or you can purchase it off amazon.com. I hope this helps.
  2. Well here in Memphis, TN i think its about the same. They have an LPN to RN mobility track(thats what they call it but its the same). They award 7 credit hours( i think) and thats for the foundation course and clinical. "But">>> if you completed all your prerequisites or maybe not(still a couple to go)..... After you have your LPN, the RN program is just one year(spring, summer, fall)!!! So the same amount of time you put into a 2- 2 1/2 year AS RN program is about the same amount of time as if you were going from LPN to RN, plus experience and a job while you're completing the RN program. If you can get into the RN program vs LPN.... Go for it!!!!!! you have nothin to lose. but from what i heard from fellow RN's who were LPN's first, they had an easier time going through the RN program vs... someone who go straight through the RN program first without experience or medical background.
  3. I definitely plan to continue regardless of whether they phase out LPN or not, there are just more opportunities available in the nursing profession with advance education plus an increase in income. I'm pretty sure many of you future nurses may want to choose a speciality or fall in love with one area. Or you may want to advance to a supervisory role, so why not advance your education... I say go for it and go as far as you can go in the profession. It will be well worth it in the end. :)
  4. Well LPNs are usually employed most in the long term care facilities vs. hospitals. I really don't see the difference in an LPN and RN other than education. Maybe hospitals just prefer the more advanced in training and education....
  5. Well here in Memphis, TN I'm attending a technical school. My program will be 18 months and the total cost is $4,446
  6. Wow this is really good advice for me as well. Right now, I'm just trying to focus on passing the nurse entrance test. Everyone tells me that it will be easy... And I really need to brush up on my A&P, since its been a while since I had it. My program starts this october.
  7. Well I plan to start LPN school this coming october. I will attend evenings and weekends on a part time basis. Right now, I'm just preparing for the Nurse Entrance test coming up real soon. I was wondering if any one worked or are working while attending school??????? I know its best to not work if possible. But In my case, I have to work because I live alone and have bills and no help... If any one have worked, whats the best shift or hours? Right now, I work as a CNA at a nursing home . I think they are pretty flexible with hours. My classes will be Tues, Wed, Thurs from 5pm -9pm and Sat. 8a-4p.... And i work from 11pm- 7am....(i really like this shift) Any suggestions will be helpful... thank you :)
