need to vent (duplicate posts merged)
Don't be so hard on yourself! Like mydesygn said most nurses don't typically pass the first time. There are going to be a lot of times in life where you have to try again. Continue to express how you feel, and you will find many others that can relate. Best of Luck!

Nurses with bad credit
I would also be furious if I was in thier position. The way you spend your money doesn't necessarily reflect your work habits. It would be hard to fight, but I hope they at least try. I had no idea that the library could effect your credit, that is way to extreme!

Reality TV : Nurses
Well I still think you have all been brainwashed by the reality tv that has taken over our lifes. I still think nursetv has the potential to help educate the public. For example, heart attacks on tv are generally portrayed by simply clutching your chest and collapsing. I personally haven't watched any of the other nurse tv shows, but if you have I would like to hear your oponion of them. Are they showing young nurses in short dresses? I highly doubt it.

Reality TV : Nurses
I think this is kneejerk negativity. I'm willing to take this bet. Who's "they"? I think you may be projecting your pre-existing sentiments onto this show. Again, yes I would. I think this is baseless negativity. What kind of drivel? Seriously, you act like you know that it is drivel instead of instinctively just writing it off. If you have some kind of inside track on the show and know that it's going to be all that you claim it is, then please let us know.

Reality TV : Nurses
That's what one of the Access Nurses in the NPR show said. I don't think anyone will dispute this. If it were interesting I think it could work. But then again, taking said "slob" (not my choice of words) to a mansion might be an interesting contrast. In "reality" TV, I think most everyone understands that it is not "realistic" so much as it "really happens". The people and events are real, even if they are thrust into an unrealistic setting. That's entertainment. I agree and disagree with you here. It does seem like it is inspired by marketing, however I don't think that has to be disappointing. It's not like I see some grand noble purpose the show could have that it is neglecting in order to be some ploy. It's definitely made to draw publicity, and the CEO of Access Nurses said as much in the interview. But that doesn't have to be a bad thing. It can still do us nurses proud, and it can still be entertaining (at least to those who are not immediately constitutionally opposed to the very idea).

Reality TV : Nurses
I was worried that the show would be a bad representation of nurses as well, but I spoke with Access Nurses about it and I'm convinced that they will keep it classy. I'll send them this thread and maybe they can respond.

Weekend and holiday work question
Yeah lucky me works out I too will be working the long weekend. You could try to switch, but I try to save asking favors for the holidays that are really important to me. I would rather have christmas with the family than 4th of July.

Nurse TV
I found their site ( http://www.nursetv.com ) promoting the new series 13 weeks coming in the fall. Has anyone submitted an audition tape yet?

Share your funniest Nursing jokes!
Doctor: I have some bad news and some very bad news. Patient: Well, might as well give me the bad news first. Doctor: The lab called with your test results. They said you have 24 hours to live. Patient: 24 hours! That's terrible! What could be worse? What's the very bad news? Doctor: I've been trying to reach you since yesterday.

Happy Nurse Week
I just want to let all my fellow nurses know how appreciated your dedication to our profession is. I hope you all know that the patience and compassion given each day really does make this world a better place. Here are a few nurse week facts I find interesting: Many efforts were made over the years to get a national day of recognition for nurses. Beginning with a proposal in 1953, by Dorothy Sutherland to President Eisenhower for a Nurses Day that was not granted. In 1974, President Richard Nixon issued a proclamation for National Nurses Week. In 1982, the American Nurses Association Board of Directors formally acknowledged May 6 as National Nurses' Day. In the same year, President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation on March 25 proclaiming May 6 to be National Recognition Day for Nurses. In 1990, The American Nurses Association Board of Directors expanded the recognition of nurses to a weeklong celebration, declaring May 6-12, 1991 as National Nurses Week. In 1993, The American Nurses Association initiates National RN Recognition Day on May 6, to honor the 2.2 million indispensable registered nurses in the U.S. for their tireless commitment 365 days a year. The ANA encourages its 53 states and territorial nurses associations and other organizations to acknowledge May 6, as National RN Recognition Day :hatparty:
