Dialysis staff nurse salary in US
Thanks for the info, loveyourkidneys. I've been interested in dialysis for a couple years. I've wondered about the weekly hours. I'm fine with long hours- personally I prefer long hours and less days a week.

Knitting during class: ok or not?
Honestly, I thought you were joking when I first read your post. I think it's very inappropriate. I am sure you have a lot of time out of class when you study that you can knit. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses

Why do we hate admissions?
Another reason , is in addition to all the time it takes to complete an admission I still have my regular patients to tend to. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses

Tips?
I'm interested in working in a smaller office/ facility. I'd like to be part of a smaller team that works cohesively together. I think I'm more suited to that than large impersonal facilities. The facility that I currently work In is large and there's no team work. I am looking to get into a specialty instead of a LTAC or med Serg. I have many days where I am now that I don't feel like I actually helped someone . Handing out pills isn't enough sometimes. I feel that nephrology is a field that would be a good for me. Would You Be Willing to do This?
I am working in a LTAC faculty currently. I work doubles every weekend. 16-20 hour days. If my shift goes over 16 hours they do not seem worried. If someone falls or I get an admission and have to stay late, they do not care. I am actually looking to get into dialysis now. I have an interview next week for a dialysis position. I don't think long term/ Long term acute care is my "home". I am ok with long hours( within reason). Can anyone tell me what dialysis pays? I've heard the field pays week. [POLL] is it a reason to NOT pursue nursing anymore?
If you're staying in Korea, I would take a semester off and take a class to learn the language. Then go back to the nursing program.

Take your time and relax. Don't let yourself get flustered. Each med pass will get easier. You'll find your rhythm and it will go smoother. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com

This is the third thread that someone has answered a question with " homework?" First, isn't this the place to ask questions about nursing? Second, who cares if it is homework? The op is still looking for the knowledge. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com

Which diagnosis?
What diagnosis has caused you / your unit the most trouble? It seems at my facility the BakerAct unit has caused the most problems in terms of injuries. What about drama or arguing with nurses? Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com

Thank you mrchicagorn and bebbercorn for your replies. Fiba , I am not sure what you meant by your comment. I am asking because I've heard several stories about injuries at my facility. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
