Remote case management?
Hi, I got my BSN in 2001 and have maintained my license (without interruption)? So in late Mar 2024 I had a smallish accident (broke my neck to be exact) SO I'm continuing PT, OT, exploring swimming... so I can't walk without a walker...My whole point of telling my story is I'm seriously thinking of remote case management as a possible next career move? I have a few years experience in home care and hospice. I believe I need a CCM certification to move forward. Frankly, this whole idea may be impossible. Or maybe not ? If anyone knows of ways to get the CCM or any other ideas, drop me a line ☺️

Alaska Travel?
Along w corrections, been thinking about travel, rcvd. Email from recruiter about Alaska, Sounds lucrative but what’s the real deal? I’m single, no kids, in my fifties, why not? That’s why I’m here, what better place to ask than here? I think I would check out more than one travel company but does anyone have good advice about a company or Alaska in general? Thanks! LD

Detroit vs. Erebody !!
Hey there! So I'm seriously thinking of getting into correctional nursing (graduated 2001) So been an RN for a little while. My question is : Anybody reading this live in the Detroit area? And, there seem to be quite a few facilities, are some a lot better/worse than others? I know Maxim employs a lot of correct. nurses, but I've never worked for them before, what are they like? Who's better? The state ? OK, I'm just a bucket of questions, any thoughts would be great! LD

Nursing is not for me possibly..losing that drive/push
Hey kid, keep your chin up! I think the post from Veronica is spot on! Especially the part about shadowing a nurse. Getting your LPN is great but why not go for the RN? I only say this cause in my state (MI) LPN's are mostly limited to LTC facilities and that might REALLY zap your spirit. As for me, I was a lab tech for 12 yr and then STARTED nursing school at 36yr old! I just went b*lls to the wall and got thru a BSN program in 3 1/2 yr and I know what you mean about loving the hospital...nothing better than going for a break with a buddy at 3am, but the BEST part is leaving on a Mon morn (it's raining or snowing) and everybody else is trudging in, not to mention the endless variety of positions like working w kids or the elderly or working all midnites or just working a weekend cadre...OR how about flight nursing now that's exciting...ok 'nuff said so whatever you choose you are still way young enough to completely change your mind and become an environmental engineer;-) Best wishes, Laura
