  1. Be familiar with periodic table. I took Chemistry years ago, so I cannot remember anything, but I do remember that we used periodic table many times.
  2. Hmm.. What do you mean by "additional familiarity"? Maybe Child Development?
  3. I will be starting clinical in Fall of 2014. Meanwhile, I get to take a few psychology classes for minor. I have some choices and would like some opinions. "Examines the effects of psychoactive drugs on neuro-chemical, mental, and behavioral processes. Major depressant, stimulant, narcotic, and hallucinogenic drugs will be studied, as will drugs used to treat mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, phobias, and schizophrenia" - This is Psychopharmacy class. This seems like really helpful for Pharmacology class-wise. And I have other choices [COLOR=#003a70]Family Dynamics "A systems approach to marriage and family relationships focusing on psychological processes and communication systems which promote or restrict intimacy and health." Small Group Interaction "Analysis of small group dynamics: structure, process, roles, alliances, shared assumptions, group communication, and leadership. Lectures, demonstrations, and practical group experience." Neuropsychology & Personality Testing "An introduction to the principles of psychological test construction: norms, reliability, validity, ethical issues in psychological testing, personality and clinical measures. " and Temperament & Child Behavior - It does not have a course description. I need three classes out of five choices including Phamacology. I am thinking Pharmacology, Neuropsychology & Personality Testing, and Temperament & Child Behavior seems like good choices. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance!

  6. I was talking to some gentleman and then I told him I will be going to nursing school in next fall. I said the name of the school and it turned out that it was his relatives who went there. I asked him how did he/she like it? And he said it's wasn't too bad. What does that mean? "Not too bad"? I was not expecting this kind of answer because I just told him I will be going there. I feel kind of let down now. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com, so please understand my typos.
  7. Wheee! Congrats!

  15. What I meant don't cram was that don't procrastinate. I tell my friends don't cram on any subjects. Because cramming is hard. :/ Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com, so please understand my typos.
  16. Anatomy was so interesting, but required many hours to study. Don't try or EVER cram the materials. Whatever you learned in the lab, at least go over twice on that day, and keep continue reviewing. The more you fall behind, the more you will get stressed out. Good luck! 18. I am done with all my GE and I need one more class for my AS Degree concentration on Math & Science. It's not directly related, but I guess it will be useful in nursing. It's under ethnic studies. I find humanities too boring for me. :/. How about the other fellows? What's your thought on ethnic studies/humanities? 19. Isn't one of the reasons to get a job is for the money? I love to help other people, work in health care environment. So I guess becoming a nurse is a win-win. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com, so please understand my typos.
  20. I have been volunteering at the hospital and like the setting. Interact with nurses, medical assistants, clerks, and patients. However, I am a bit worried about my knowledge towards nursing. Maybe volunteering is different than working as a nurse. I just don't want to find out if nursing is not right for me when I am actually in the nursing program. Has anyone thought about my situation as well? Cheers, HGF
  21. This. Think of rhetorical writing.
