University of West Florida MSN FNP Fall 2021
Mine was today. It only lasted about 15-18 min long. Everything we talked about over the phone was outlined in an email she sent after our conversation. I am registered for classes now. Im registered for Advanced Health Assessment, Foundations of Nursing Science and Population Health Promotion and Management. I am not sure if it's the same for everyone, but Advanced Health Assessment starts 8/23/21 and ends 12/11/21. Foundations of Nursing Science starts 8/23/21 and ends 10/16/21 and finally Population Health Promotion starts 10/18/21 and ends 12/11/21. So taking 2 classes at all times. Projected graduation will be Fall 2023. I currently work Monday through Friday 8am-4pm in Public Health as the Nurse Educator at the Health Department. I will probably have to find another job next year before clinical start which I am very nervous about. I will email you so that you will have my email address as well. I am very excited, but also very nervous!

Darton State College in Ga
Hey Jeannettawyche, Do you mean DALTON state in GA? Well Dalton state community college offers an ADN in nursing. They also have a new RN-BSN program but I am not sure if it is fully accredited yet. I was accepted into Dalton state's RN program several years ago, but declined admission. I do know several people who went there though! They only had good things to say. I don't think it's that expensive either. Associate Degree Nursing Program That website will take you directly to the school's RN program. There are other schools in that area. I don't know exactly where you are located, but there is another school in TN called Chattanooga state Community College and it's not terribly far. From what I hear, it's a great program.

University of west Ga RN-BSN
Hey GaMommy81, I am soooo sorry I never replied to your post! I didn't even see it to be honest! Did you get accepted into UWG rn-bsn program? I was accepted in the fall of 2013 and went through the entire process even signed up for my classes. However, I dropped them before classes started because I was so overwhelmed with work and everything. I will be attending in the Fall 2014 instead!. Let me know how you are doing!

Need help looking for nursing schools!
You're welcome! That's awesome that you are almost done with your CNA! Congrats! I graduated nursing school already, a couple of years ago and am working as a RN in a hospital. Good luck! I truly wish you the best!

hopeful future nursing student needs help with school plans
Hey there! To increase your chances of getting into nursing school, I would suggest applying to several programs in your area! This may mean that you might have to take different entrance exams, for example, TEAS or HESI, NET. I think the most common test is the TEAS. When I was applying to programs, I had to take the TEAS and HESI. It just depends on the school. Also, if you decide to apply to multiple schools then you make sure you pay close attention to the prerequisites. Some schools may require more prerequisites than the other. Again, it just depends on the school. If you worry about lack of work experience, have you looked into becoming a CNA? It will probably take about 1 month and it is pricey, but it is well worth it! Check out this blog. Educationstartsnow.blog.com it has great information! Hope this helps. Good luck in your venture to become a Nurse. God Bless.

Need help figuring out where to start! Alternatives to ABSN?
Hey There! I personally didn't go through an Accelerated BSN program but from what I hear it is very intense! If you don't care to have a job during it, then maybe it can be done. I am not saying it's impossible to have a job while in the accelerated bsn program because nothing is impossible! Anyway, I know you said the route you choose doesn't have to be the fastest way. In this case, you can always apply to your local community college and take the necessary prerequisites. Then I would apply to the RN (ASN) program there! That way, you can talk to alot of people there who are in the same boat as you trying to get into the same program! Check out this blog: educationstartsnow.blogspot.com It has some good information on it! Maybe you can get your CNA certificate which is around 1 month long. And while you are working on your prerequisites, you can be working at your local hospital or nursing home as a CNA to see first hand what nurses do! You never know, this may turn you off from Nursing! Better to find out then, than while in nursing school! After you graduate from the ASN program, you can begin working as a RN. Then you can apply for a RN-BSN program. Depending upon where you go, it can be a year program. Hope this helps!!

Need help looking for nursing schools!
Hi Annie How are things going for you? I hope you are doing well in your venture in getting into nursing school. I kind of know how you feel. I graduated with my bachelors degree and my GPA wasn't where I needed it to be to get into nursing school. After graduating, I attended a community college in my area and retook A&PI and II & Microbiology. I did a lot better in these courses probably because I took it at a community college and they have smaller classrooms and I can learn better. Anyway, if Nursing is what you really want to do, then don't give up..PLEASE!! Try checking out other programs in your area. Have you considered becoming a CNA? Some schools require that you have a CNA certificate before you apply to the program. If it's not required, it may look better when you apply..?!? It wouldn't hurt, i guess. Plus, it's a good learning experience. Also, Like another post mentioned, contact the schools in your area. Since you have taken A&P a couple of times, ask them if they calculate all the grades that you received or just the highest grade achieved from the courses. It wouldn't hurt to ask. Apply to more than 1 nursing school to increase your chances! You can do this! educationstartsnow.blogspot.com has a list of schools in the United States and it has other helpful information. I wish you the best, Annie!
