  1. Question on new grad resumes, I attended one continuing education conference for 6.5 contact hours and did a pressure ulcer online training for 1.5 contact hours, as a new grad, does it look stupid to put that as a subheading? Like "continuing educa...
  2. North Shore LIJ ED/NICU/PICU Fellowship 2013

Hey rnmj, I know it's an ED/PICU/NICU fellowship, but is the ED portion pediatrics or both peds/adults? Thanks!
  3. NSLIJ Cohen's Pediatric New Grad Fellowship

It's a three semester thing. First part is classroom, second part you have a preceptor and third part, you're on your own but have a preceptor reference pretty much. After the first six months ish, you have a lot of autonomy on your own so that's p...

  5. UCSF New Grad Program 2013

Hi Guys! Just wanted to start a thread to talk about the next round of the UCSF new grad program. I want to get as much information as I can. I've read through the 2012 thread so I know it's a process. Anyone wanna share any information on how to...
  6. NYP New grad position

Finally got the battery test! That thing was weird. What's everyone else's status?
  7. PICU Advice

Hi all! I'm a new grad this may and ideally would like to be in a PICU setting. I've been offered an adult critical care fellowship (most likely CTICU) and haven't gotten a peds job yet, but it's very likely I can get a job on a general peds floor....

  9. NYP New grad position

I haven't heard anything since that first email either. I got it on the 17th so tomorrow marks two weeks. Should I respond to the email or try calling later this week if I don't hear anything?
  10. I'm a CNA and in nursing school. It's really helpful for patient interaction skills and just seeing various procedures. You shouldn't feel weird about it because it will help your future career. I'm at a NYC hospital and make 16 an hour.
  11. Columbia Presbyterian Parking

Yeah I'm there now as a student, no discounted rates, $35 a day. So annoying. Sometimes I can find street parking which is always nice but I also worry my car will get broken into all day ha
  12. NYP New grad position

I haven't graduated/taken my boards yet. I finish next month. On the application it asks "do you graduate within the next 2 months" and "will you be eligible to take the boards within the next 2 months" or something along those lines. I know they h...
  13. NYP New grad position

  14. Moving to CA/new grad

Hi everyone. So I'm really interested in moving to CA and plan on applying to new grad programs out there (I'm from NY). I'm well aware these programs are extremely competitive BUT on the hopeful chance I do land a spot in one, the big move is a li...
  15. My advice isn't useful cause I'm in a similar situation. I'm in NY and want to get a position in SF after I graduate in may. I wouldn't go unless I had a job lined up, moving across the country without a job or friends seems like too much at once h...
  16. Moving to CA/new grad

Thanks for all the responses! I know it's extremely competitive in CA, especially SF. I actually already have a job lined up in NYC that I plan on taking if I don't get a new grad spot somewhere else. Since I already know it's tough out there, I wa...
  17. New Grad Competition

Hey so although I hope everybody gets a job as a new grad, we all know we're up against each other so I was wondering what you other new grads have on your résumé/how you guys look on paper. I'll start, I graduate in may with a BSN, have BLS, did a...

I wanna know about hiring from out of state too, like phone interviews and what not. We need someone to comment who applied last year/got the job!
  19. Moving to CA/new grad
