I'm 43 with 3 girls ages 7, 4, & 2. It is never to late if this what you want to do. I have waited so long for this, started yhe journey over 10 years ago however at the time I was an Airport Manager working 16 hrs a day and the company would not work around school, then I met my husband, had three girls and 3 deployments later here I am just starting the program next week. Excited, nervous, and overwhelmed but definitely do not feel that it is too late. I had ladies in my pharm and informatics class that are older than me also starting this fall. Don't let age hold you back.

I used the incredibly easy, the pharm plash cards, but I also really liked the Mosby's pharmacology memory nore cards (mnemonic) it's small enough to throw in your purse, I used to pull it out while sitting in waiting rooms for appointments and while my daughters would be in dance class. I just got one off Amazon, waterproof, military time, sweeping second hand and inexpensive. All my nurse friends said do not spend alot on a watch. As long as it does what you need it for.

That study technique does work, did the same in my pharm class. Will be doing the same for the remainder of my program. Good Advice.

Our school just started allowing calculators. My first couple of calculation test we were not allowed and they were 20 questions, had to get 18. Which a large amount of us passed. It can be done.

I looked at that one too. I find it all very confusing. I ended up getting the one In the link I shared above, the reviews were good and were compared with the littman cardiology II. So I'm hoping I made a good decision.

I just spoke with two of my friends that are nurse one critical care (18 years) and a CRNA. The CRNA uses disposable ones her littman sits in her locker and the other says that the Prestige and ADC ones are the ones she uses over the littmans, she says they are just as good and more than 1/2 the price. I just bought one of each on Amazon for under $40. Spending enough on nursing school why spend a lot if you don't have to.

In my ADN program if you fail out of 1 course you have to reapply to the program.

Hi Kerry, nice to meet you, sorry it took so long to get back with you been tied up enjoying the kids before the semester starts and getting through Pharm, lol I am getting impatient waiting to see when they will assign us what class we will be in :) Now that we got all of ACE passport info and such It is hard to believe it is all going to start soon.

Congrats to all, I begin at the end of August. What are you guys doing ahead of time to prepare for the 1st semester? I don't have my open house/orientation until July 31st and was wondering what types of supplies/equip were needed.

Wow, 8 hours ours is on July 31st and is only 2 hrs I sure hope we get enough information.

Hello I was just wondering if there is anyone starting the ADN Program This Fall at Schoolcraft College. Just thought we could introduce ourselves since we will all be going through the program together the next two years. I am Kelly super nervous and excited to begin in the fall. I think I am more nervous to see how my little ones adjust to me going to school for more than one day. LOl

I always buy from Amazon.com, haven't tried Half.com going to look into that Anyways I have never had a problem and have saved quite a bit

Hello and congrats to all of you!!!!!!! I officially start my ADN in the Fall and have orientation at the end of July. I just got done doing all the requirments before fall, CPR BLS for HCP, drug screen, physical, immuz., etc. Super excited but also very nervous. It is all new to me, former Business management for years, I'm an older student and mother of three girls ages 6, 4 and 2. Hoping I can juggle everything and handle it. My husband is very supportive but it will be hard for him to get in the groove with the kids since he just got back from AFG after a year.

I'm in the same boat right now but going to finish out the semester I have to feel positive that I can pull this off so close and so are you. I am studing my rear off for this next exam and hope I pull out a passing and then for two weeks it will be all about the final. You can do this don't give up.
