GWU FNP Fall 2015
FNP and ACNP are 2 totally different program that requires different certification. Sounds like you may need to look into a Emergency tract program where you will be trained both as an FNP and a ACNP...at which point you will be able to site both exams. So, the answer to your question is no. You cannot LEGALLY work as an acute care NP with an FNP certification.

George Washington University AGPCNP - FALL 2014
Not sure if this is too later...Overall it's a great program! It a lot of hard work and commitment. Mediocre work won't cut it, 87 is the pass mark for clinical courses plus each clinical semester has an on campus testout! Had a 3.9 when I applied most of who I have meet had similar GPA's.

Why is it okay for Doctors to yell at Nurses?
It is NOT acceptable! I have been yelled at once and I guarantee that he won't make that mistake again...whenever we run into each other he can't even look me in the face😎You of to learn the art of "respectful embarrassment"

University of South Alabama, Fall 2014
No...I email and have left numerous voice mails still no reply. This is getting a little ridiculous given the orientation begins August 10(for the condense sched.)...I would like to know so I can book my flight and find a place to stay. If this is any indication of how the program is run I would rather spend the extra money and go to GWU. If I don't get a response by Friday I will withdraw my application.

Urgent: In over my head...ICP Monitoring
Thanks Esme12...you just gave me a refresher. I love it when we can help each other, it's a shame that we spend so much time on this site criticizing each other instead of sharing our knowledge.

University of south alabama msn-fnp applicants
Thank RN453...I perviously accepted admission to another program because USA took so long to make their decision. I'm torn but will definitely attend USA if the condensed version is an option and the cost cannot be beat! It will cost me $20,000 less if I go with USA. Is anyone from Maryland? Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia or D.C? Congrats to everyone and good luck to those still waiting.

Do Nurses Get Traffic Tickets?
I have NEVER receive a ticket from an officer in person and I get pulled over at least once every two months. Most of the time I'm my way to work and running later. They usually just tell me to take it easy on the road, make suggestion like i won't ticket you because you may be the nurse to save my life in the future or something like you have a hard job as it is am going to give you a break. The only tickets I have every gotten are from those speed camera's, those sucker don't care who you are;)

@elpnla your statement is just not true...I found UTA to be reasonably price when compare to other online program. What 4 yrs university you know of that doesn't require you to take classes like hist I&II? I personally don't know of any. I completed the program in 10 months by taking 2-3 classes at a time. I took majority my electives at my local CC in the summer, UTA accepted all of my transfer credits. I find that some of us want an education but not willing to pay or work for it. The program is not without it's problems and challenges done of which was addressed in your post.

Bedpan dilemma
Every delegated task require follow-up, I don't doubt for a minute that the CNA's dropped the ball but, can we take that to court? I don't care if you have a 20 pt. assignment it is the nurses responsibility to ensure they put "eye" every patient once report is given. What if that pt. had died? How would the nurse account for that? Would she be allowed to blame the CNA's? I worked in ECF before so I know it's no walk in the park...I use the first 15-20 min. to stop in and make sure everybody chest is rising, verify what's hanging and ensure no one is one the ground. I'm sure we all worked very hard for our RN Lic. and I am in no mood to give mind away.
