Hey akeefner, What start date did you apply for? For me, my start date is April 2014 but that also depends whether or not I get my loans and stuff officially processed. Let me know if you need a roommate because I'm also searching for one or two as well. I'll be coming from California so Denver will be a brand new experience for me. Good-luck!

Did you have to apply for any private loans for nursing? How can we know how much federal loan we are eligible for? Ive already submitted my FAFSA. Do i need to just wait for fafsa to let me know how much im eligible for?

Does anyone have any info regarding tuition at DSN? I know tuition is 55k for the BSN program. I understand that federal loans will only cover a portion of the tuition and the rest will have to be paid out of pocket OR through a private loan. Im a lil worried about getting a private loan because as far as I know, my credit is not the best it could be. Will this make it difficult for me to apply for a private loan? I am thinking about asking a relative to be my co-signer, but again, I'm still worried that my credit will hinder my chances of getting a private loan. Anyone have any insight about this? thank you!

Does anyone know how the interview is like?? I heard that its pretty chill and all the advisor does is talk about the school and payment options... so once you pass the entrance exam, you're pretty much set to go. Is this true? Hi there. I have also been reading different threads about DSN and a lot of them have been mixed reviews as well. What I'd like to know is if DSN is accredited? I heard that its NLNAC accredited but is it also CCNE accredited? I just need to know if I can continue on with my Master's in nursing after completing my BSN at DSN. Thanks for the info

Hi Sierra, I think you should turn in your application early. The sooner the better would be a good idea. I applied for the april 2014 start date; I submitted my application early in September for the October 1st deadline and received an email from DSN two days after letting me know that they have received my application. If you have any questions at all, Kelly from DSN is the gal you can contact. She's very prompt at responding to emails.

Hi everyone! I'm Ann and I applied to Denver School of Nursing' s BSN april 2014 start date. I wanted to start this thread to see who else applied to the same 2014 start date. It would be nice to know anyone else that has applied. I was thrilled to recently receive an invitation for an interview at DSN and I plan to fly out to Denver from California for the interview and to take the HESI in January! Hi there, You mentioned that math consisted of solving for proportions such as X/63=24/72 ; I was wondering if the questions were straight forward like the example you gave or was it formatted in a word problem where you have to figure out how to set it up?

How was the math section? Were there a lot of word problems? basic math is easy but word problems throw me off! also, how did you study for the vocabulary?

Hi there, Thank you for the useful info! :) I can honestly say that what I'm most worried about on the hesi is the math part. I know its all basic math but what I'm most worried about is the word problem questions. I get so thrown off as to what it's asking me to do. I can do the math (conversions, fractions, addition, etc.) but when it's in a word problem format I get confused. :\ do you recall if there were a lot of word problems in the math section? I'm pretty confident that I won't have much problem on reading, grammar, and everything else.
