How do I get into remote nursing jobs?

How do I get into remote nursing jobs?
I need guidance/advice please! For those who have online nursing jobs can you please direct me how you started? I am currently working as a floor nurse in a nursing home, ADN degree, for about 12 yrs. For the past couple yrs I've been back and forth on deciding how/when I should pursue remote nursing. Since this field (nursing home/SNF) is my only experience, do I need to get certain certifications to be an "online nurse"? Is there a website for online nurses we go to, that has a step-by-step process we follow? So I thought of browsing on Indeed and that's how I saw there's a "Compact license" that you should get in order to apply for remote nursing work. I didn't know this existed. Also, what are starting online nursing jobs titles? I see a lot of Utilization review, Clinical research navigator, or Remote telephonic discharge planner, etc. Would any of those work for me to apply? Any info where to begin is appreciated! Thank you!

Utilization review, are other companies better than this?
Hi, I have been working as a floor nurse in a SNF/nursing home and I'm considering a remote nursing job. I have messaged a couple nurses here too, and so for a utilization review nurse, when applying online do I have to make sure it's within the state I live in because of my nursing license? Or do the companies you mentioned, hire remote work nurses no matter where you live?

Oh okay. What is your job title specifically if you don't mind me asking? I also got a response from a utilization review nurse, I didn't know that was different from telehealth.

Telehealth Nursing?
Oh got it. I was thinking utilization review was the same as telehealth. Thanks so much for your input!

Telehealth Nursing?
Sorry I have a lot if questions. Because I'm seriously considering telehealth. Then does the job have to be within the state? I'm thinking if a telehealth job comes up in another state, I'm only licensed in IL. Also, what would a typical day be, is there time to pickup kids from school and go back to work when coming back home?

Telehealth Nursing?
Oh nice! Do we need a certificate or something, before applying for a telehealth nurse?

Hi, how did you get started in telehealth? My experience is being a floor nurse in a nursing home/skilled nursing facility for almost 9 years. Do I have to get a certificate to get started in telehealth? And like your post, how did you find the right telehealth job after working in telephone advice?

Telehealth Nursing?
How did it go? Are you a telehealth nurse now? Wondering about switching to telehealth too, from nursing home bedside.

License expired Sept 30, 2020 now applying for reinstatement.
I was working the past weeks even after the Sept 30th expiration yikes and the reason I remembered was when our HR started collecting copies of our licenses. So I'm off the schedule for now, since I informed that I totally forgot to renew. Like you said I hope it would only take a few days. Because I barely have any sick/vacay pay left when I used them up when I got sick with Covid few months ago. Thanks for your reply!

License expired Sept 30, 2020 now applying for reinstatement.
Hi everyone, Has anybody experienced applying for license reinstatement past the expiration date? I forgot to renew so when I went online thinking it was as easy as renewing, just like how we usually do it every 2 years. Just pay with credit card, and you get your new license. I was shocked this reinstatement thing has to be submitted thru regular mail, check enclosed, with proof of required CE's. How long did yours take to process until you got your new license?

Is it really "easier" transitioning from LTC to working in a hospital?
Brandon OMG yes the treatments are the worst because it takes up so much time on top of medpass. Lately the facility I work now hired a wound nurse who comes everyday so it has been a huge help. I have been thinking a lot about what the transition might be like and good to know that it shouldn't be too bad. Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.

I'm also curious did your hourly rate stay the same when you transferred to the hospital? Good to know that your experience from LTC is a good one.

Is it really "easier" transitioning from LTC to working in a hospital?
I currently work in a nursing home with 25-35 patients day/evening shift. I've only been a nurse for 3 and 1/2 years and my first job as a new grad was in LTC. Now I hear every now and then that if you have nursing home experience, working in a hospital won't be as bad since you have less patients. I am thinking about applying for a hospital job in the near future. Would love to hear input from those who started out working in nursing homes and are now working in a hospital. Thanks!
