Ontario Second-Entry Nursing
It says you need a cumulative grade point average of at least a B (6.0 on the York Scale) and a B+ (7.0) average in the last 30 credits. Also, you need at least a B (6.0 on the York Scale) for each prerequisite course.

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)
I called the department and the lady said that the program is pretty much at capacity. They have rolling admissions, so if a spot does open up they'll let us know. Congrats to all of you accepted folks!

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)
@want_to_get_in, thanks for the info! By any chance, do you know if that's for both internal & external? That would definitely help my case if it's open for both applicant pools lol.

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)
When I called the department, the lady said they take the highest GPAs from both internal/external. So I assume the B+ cut-off is for both groups.

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)
They look at cGPA and your GPA in the last 30 credits (5 full courses).

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)
I know the internal spots are filled, but I'm hoping there's some sort of waiting list (fingers crossed).

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)
To the applicants who are still waiting for York, are any of you internal? Thanks!

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)
We won't know until final grades come in. So I'm guessing we should be hearing back around end of May/early June. Goodluck to all internal applicants!

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)
lol I should probably clarify. The cutoff i'm talking about is for internal applicants from last year. They did not accept anybody below the B+ mark in both cumulative and last 30.

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)
I spoke to the Program Assistant at York and she told me that the cutoff was a B+ in both overall and last 30. It's pretty competitive

Accelerated Nursing York 2015 entry
@cb45770 and to all other internal applicants: What is your overall gpa and last 30 credits gpa? I'm a bit worried about the competition I'm anticipating by May an overall gpa of 6.5, and last 30 a 7.0. Hopefully that will be enough I will appreciate your responses, hopefully we all get in!

York vs. UofT [Accelerated Nursing]
@Cee023 Thanks a lot for your help! I guess I have a lot of thinking to do haha. So difficult to decide, both seem like great programs!

York vs. UofT [Accelerated Nursing]
@heartstrings - Thanks for your reply! If I live in the Markham/Pickering area, would it still be possible to get placements in Downtown, Toronto? Would it help if I have access to a car? I really want placements in the downtown core; especially for my final consolidation. Thanks again!

York vs. UofT [Accelerated Nursing]
@Cee023 - Thanks a lot for your help! By any chance do you live near the campus or are you commuting? I live near Markham/Pickering, so i'm not sure if it would be beneficial for me to live near campus. Thanks again!

York vs. UofT [Accelerated Nursing]
Hey everybody, I have done tons of research and have decided that I will like to go to either York or UofT for their accelerated nursing programs. I would like to ask students who are currently in the program or graduates a.couple of questions. 1) I have heard that UofT provides better placements compared to york ie. Major downtown hospitals. Is this true? 2) Is it hard to maintain a high GPA at UofT compared to York - since there is more theory at UofT? 3) Does York provide placements in all areas of your choice, or is based on whatever is available? 4) If you had a choice, would you change schools? If so, why? I will appreciate all help and feedback. Don't hesitate to tell me any other experiences you had during your time in the program! Thanks! :)
