  1. This is perfect, thank you! I'm not the OP, but I just started L&D last week after spending the first 6 months of my nursing career in the O.R. It is incredibly overwhelming (my manager graciously warned me) but I'm incredibly blessed with a fantastic preceptor. I am a self-proclaimed nerd so I've been looking for some good resources and this gives me a great starting point. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
  2. I used Saunders NCLEX review guide (got it on Amazon) and it proved invaluable for studying for Adult Health. The biggest tip I can give is to get used to the testing style. It's unlike anything you've ever encountered and mastering critical thinking is what will help you succeed. In order to develop that skill, practice makes perfect! The more practice questions you can do (and rationales you can read) the better you will do! Above all else do not forget to just breathe sometimes! You have to take a mental break at some point or you will exhaust yourself very early on. I just wrapped up my first semester and it was a doozy!
  3. I took the TEAS V one time in April 2014 and found it to be fairly simple. The science was - of course - the most difficult part but it was more tricky than hard. I would say if you are comfortable after having gone through the practice tests in the book, and done the online practice exams you should not worry. I scored lower on the online tests than the book exams and my score on the TEAS V was in the high 80's. It's really not that bad! Good luck - and do NOT stress yourself out over it. You will do GREAT :)
  4. You definitely can do it! I graduated high school in 1995 (!!!) and have completed nearly all two years of pre-reqs (for BSN) in just the last 15 months! I have a 3.9 GPA and I've done that with 3 kids while my husband studied for an AAS in Criminal Justice! It wasn't hard to get back in the swing of things when it came to school, just took some time. I'm sure you will do just fine! Good luck to you!
  5. Excellent! Thanks for the tips! I did just complete College Algebra last semester so math is fresh on the brain but I definitely plan on getting the prep materials to study...I just wasn't sure if there was a particular difference between the two (ATI vs Amazon) or not.
  6. Has anyone ordered the TEAS V test prep book from Amazon? I'm just curious if it's the exact same thing as what's on the ATI website? It looks like it and says it comes with two practice exams but I thought I would ask! I'm gearing up to take this test but need some study materials first! Thanks in advance for reading! :kalmolil:
