Highly unrecommended, though possible. Part time you can definitely swing.

Los Angeles County School of Nursing Fall 2017
Haven't heard of that happening, but I can see that happen. You must know what your scope of field is and what is not. Down side of working at those practices is that you can possibly lose your skill set. Nursing homes aren't favorable but they do provide good experience. Big hospital do still hire LVN's.

Los Angeles County School of Nursing Fall 2017
Just because you get straight A's did exceptionally well on the TEAs test does not make you a potentially great nurse. There are books smart people who excel in studies vs people are more hands on. Hell I went to CSULA and was denied and told to change my major as I couldn't become a nurse since my grades weren't up to standards. Are they as competitive as you guys? Nope. Am I currently a nurse? Yes I am and have great feedback from pt, coworkers and my bosses. I had the mentality of if I pass with C that's good enough! But once I got into the LVN program I was a A/B student.

Mt Sac Nursing Program 2017
Not sure if this is only for the generic program. But is anyone else doing the LVN-RN program? I took the HESI the other day and scored above the minimum requirement. I guess the process now is to wait for an email regarding orientation? We then take the transition course THEN we will see if we get into the program? Anyone know how Mt Sac works?

Los Angeles County School of Nursing Fall 2017
There are two types of LVN-RN programs they offer. One where you get a degree and one you do not. The one you get your ADN is the same process as generic (maximum 94 points). You up are talking about the non degree which is a maximum of 33 points.

January 2016 Downey , El Monte, Hacienda La Puente LVN, anyone?
I graduated from Hacienda La Puente LVN program last year. Heck I loved/hated it. Tabe was a breeze, everyone panics about time and what not. Basic english/math/vocab etc. I studied the TEAs book for the test since i didn't want to buy the tabe book. It cost me $3000 with tuition, health clearance, and the nclex. Total amount for the program was $7,500 but I got financial aid for $5,500. It was tough but worth it. Say try for all to see which one you get into then decide from there. 6 months after I passed my boards (on the first try) and now i'm working at Kaiser.

Overweight
From my own personal experience. I've lost 10lbs from working as a nurse (4 months into working as a LVN). My meal consist of chicken breast, broccoli, and sweet potato. Even though it sounds extremely healthy it taste pretty darn good and for the price its dirt cheap. According to my fitbit I do about 18k steps a day. Then after work I just eat whatever I want.

Depressed LVN
HI there. I was in the same state you were. I was 6 months in after I gotten my license and still no job where as my classmates were all working already. BUT I was volunteering at an acute facility for a 2 years already. I've applied to multiple places and they all wanted a year experience. All of a sudden the boss at the place I was volunteering told me to apply for the job they just posted and got hired 2 days later. Volunteering is a great way to build connections and potentially get you that job you need.

Hurst. Pn review
Content on saunders is overwhelming. I tried to do the study schedule that saunders gives when you take the assessment test. After day 2 I was tired of all content I was just taking notes not actually memorizing it.
-
Hurst. Pn review
I managed to pass with only saunders and nclex3500 questions. Doing 200q + a day for about 3 weeks.
-
Hi all, please help for NCLEX pn pharmacology
I used saunders and nclex 3500 questions ONLY. I was able to pass the test on 85q! I didn't study specifically what EACH DRUG does cause that is torture. So what I did is just get a general idea of all the endings mean. -Statin = lower cholesterol -prils = ace inhibitors - lol = beta blocker - cin = antibiotic etc etc.

Anxious-did I pass?
I too am in California. I did the PVT and got the good pop up. 25 days later I receive my letter that I passed. Just do something that takes your mind off the exam. Some period of time I actually forgot about the nclex and only remember because the nurses kept asking me when I volunteered.
-
Got good pop up but still nervous
If you get the good pop up thats good to hear. Wow a entire 2 days of waiting? Try waiting 25 days. Just go do something you enjoy and RELAX. Yes quick results will still post on weekends.
-
does a max out credit card work with new pvt
Why would you try to add a probable $200 charge to a MAXED OUT credit card? Come on man. Anywho, I used card with insufficient funds and it gave me the good popup. If the card is decline that is a bad sign.
-
very basic question on nclex :(
Congratulations. Wow you only had to wait 2 weeks?! I took mine on the 4th of sept and I just found out on monday!

Pearson Vue Trick 2014
Since there is an 2014 poll, but that includes the OLD pearson vue website and the new. Why not have just results from the new pearson vue website. The process is a little different but it seems like the results are still the same. EVERYONE IS TAKEN TO CREDIT CARD SCREEN Steps. 1.Log into pearson vue. 2. Start registration process 3. Pick NCLEX RN/PN 4. Enter school information 5.You'll be prompt with "My order" page with all your information. Hit NEXT 6. ENTER credit card information. Hit SUBMIT It will either charge your card $200 thus meaning you failed. Test on hold? Has nothing to do with pass or fail, try again in a few hours. Or give you the original "good popup" That states " Our records indicate that you have recently schedule this exam. Another registration cannot be made." With a red triangle and inside there is a ! Want to get the results but without risking $200? Use an old gift/credit/debit card that has insufficient funds. *5 of my friends who have taken the NCLEX did the NEW PVT trick and they all receive the good pop up and have PASSED.*
