  1. We do 3 sets where I work. Our aids start first round as soon as they get report, second at 11ish and the last around 3
  2. I'm a new nurse, I've been on the floor for 4 months. I work on a busy surgical GI/GU and trauma floor. I am struggling with lung sounds, mainly the difference between clear and diminished. I can tell when there is fluid and other obvious noises but for some reason I just can't quite grasp clear and diminished. It's something that's very important on the floor where I work and I'm really trying to focus on the sounds when I listen but I'm not 100% sure what I'm trying to hear if that makes sense.
  3. You can look at your pros and cons, convince yourself that it's a great job, etc but the bottom line is, if you're not happy you're not happy.
  4. Yay!! I'm so excited! I was so upset afterwards about it! Generally I'm a pretty fast test taker! I don't like to spend a lot of time on questions; I start to second guess myself and change the correct answers to wrong ones
  5. I just got out of NCLEX. 265 questions in about 2 hours. Left bawling, got the good PVT when I checked in the parking lot. Does this mean I passed?
  6. I interviewed back in March; wasn't my best interview but seemed to go ok. I called a week later to reexpress my interest in the position-got his voicemail and left a message. I never got a call back. Called about a month later, same situation. I then called about a month after that, no answer for either the NM or the HR Rep I was in contact w/. I personally think that's very unprofessional. I don't even expect an email but a phone call to let me know 3 months later isn't a huge deal.
  7. I'm marrying a high voltage lineman Saturday!
  8. I got a pair of pants and converted them to a skirt. Super easy and the majority of the sewing is done for you so it looks nice
  9. In nursing school, we were always told that weight was the greatest indicator of fluid balance. A weight gain of 2-3 pounds in a very short amount of time isn't normal unless you are holding to an abnormal amount of fluid. I never really worried about how much fluid-there are other indicators of the exact balance, weight just was an easy noninvasive way to see there could be a problem.
  10. Hahahahaha don't know who you are but I'm right there w/ ya!!! So glad it's over!!
  11. I had a 30 ACT and a 3.5ish GPA, as well as the majority if prereqs
  12. What is BUN for? Not liver but. . . This might tell you why she is in CHF. Also might tell you why she is anemic.
  13. I would think so, as long as they are on your transcript, they would included in your GPA.
  14. Agree with the NANDA book! Super helpful!
  15. Hey now, no one can help you if you jump down everyone's throat when they try. We need a little more info on this data sheet to be able to help you. Like a pp said, it's most likely an assessment sheet and you fill it out with patient info. You should have gotten the info from the patient, chart, and your own nursing assessment/things you did that day.
  16. Priorities first. Soc is first. Study that. Then the next test, then the next. You seem to have pretty good grades, study til you know the info and feel comfortable with it. Nursing school will throw more than this against you, just take things one step at a time
  17. I graduate from the Ridgeland campus in May 2013. 30 on my ACT, like a 3.5 GPA. I got my letter over spring break. I can't remember how they accept people but you definitely have a better chance of getting in with a high GPA and ACT. good luck!
  18. I'm at the Ridgeland campus. Graduate in May
  19. The NICU there is big. Not sure of how many beds but I know the nurses usually have pods of 2-3 patients. I'm sure you could find some decent extended stay hotels within ten to fifteen minutes of the hospital if not closer.
  20. Holmes pass rate is around 95% first time taking the NCLEX. Maybe one or two people out if each graduating class
