  2. I start the RN-BSN program at CSU Fullerton in the Fall. The program is 1yr full-time. There are different options when choosing classes. I decided to take all online classes for my first semester with exception of a lab that is scheduled for only 3 weekends the entire semester. If you plan on taking on campus classes, they do have a fixed schedule. If I were to take my classes on campus, I would be at school twice a week, from about 8-4, plus the commute.
  3. I use my rolling bag often especially when going to a study group. I like to carry most of my books and notes. It saves my back the discomfort
  4. My program give me a partial syllabus so I knew exactly what I needed to read. Without a syllabus, you can't begin reading. The chapters are not in the order you will learn or need to read them. So I suggest, relax and enjoy your kids because once you start, you wont have the time.
  5. You might want to talk to current nursing students if you don't believe that its "TOUGH" and I mean really tough. On a bad day, I study 6hrs. On a really good day, I study 8-10hrs.
  6. Oh man...sounds like myself. I also quit my $20+ job 4 days before starting the ADN program. Now I am in my 2nd semester and I dont regret quiting. Yes, it is tough not having an income but I also want to give 100% during thr program.
  7. I agree, talk to someone already in the program your planning to attend. In my program, no one uses an ipad during lectures. Everyone prints out the powerpoints and records the lectures. And yes, we also had a lot of videos to watch for the skills.
  8. Before starting the ADN program, I was thinking about investing in an Ipad since I already had a laptop. I am already in my 2nd semester and have yet to buy that Ipad. I haven't had a use for it. Having a laptop is probably the best investment, well for me it was. Writing papers and especially careplans are alot easier on a laptop.
  9. I applied to four local ADN programs and was accepted into two. I am almost done with my 2nd semester at my #1 choice.
  10. There is no such thing as breaks while in nursing school, well thats what I think....lol. I am currently on spring break that ends this weekend. On wednesday I have a test and a final the following week. Although we have no assignments due, I have been studying throughout the break. All I can say is get used to not relaxing during breaks. I can't relax knowing that I have plenty to study for. Good luck on your assignments!!!
  11. Chaffey is in Rancho Cucamonga. You should go to info meetings in areas you would like to attend school because it is the only way you will find out how the programs work. At my school, we only attend clinicals once a week for 12hrs a day and lecture once a week.
  12. Have you tried Rio Hondo or Cerritos? Or even Chaffey? I got in on my first try. Ended up at Chaffey.
  13. Nursing assistant personnel
  14. You wouldn't be infusing it over 4hrs. It would be 3hrs because 1hr has already gone by. (650ml/3hrs)(1hr/60min)(15gtts/ml)= ?
  15. 400/3= 133.33 1/60=0.0166 20/1=20 133.33x0.0166x20=44.26 It should be 44gtts/min. My previous answer said 44gtts/ml. 1min=60sec 60sec/15secs=4 44/4=11 11gtts/15sec All you have to do is the math inside the parentheses and you will get your answer
  16. This is how I learned how to do flow rates in my Medical Dosage Calculations class and how I used to do it when I was a pharmacy tech. Now that I am in the ADN program, I still do it the same way. So I wasn't aware I was missing steps. The way I posted it has all the steps, in my opinion.
  17. I am not sure how you how 9. 150/90=1.666 1.666x15=24.9 or 25. Redo your calculations.
  18. I happen to be reviewing flow rates earlier today and thought I should give it a try.
  19. I solved them on your other post.
  20. So you have 150ml to infuse over 90mins at a rate of 15gtt/ml (150ml/90mins)(15gtts/ml)= 25gtts/min So you have 400ml of the 1000ml left to infuse at a rate of 20gtt/ml (400ml/3hr)(1hr/60min)(20gtts/ml)= 44.4gtts/ml or about 44gtts/ml Over 15secs, you would count 11gtts
  21. No...I decided on Chaffey ADN program (closer to home). I start 2nd semester tomorrow. Yikes!!!
