Accepted into nursing program, but two things holding me back...
Try calling your state's licensing board. I would think that someone there can answer your question.

RN jobs at home?
I am not looking to work while taking care of the baby. I was hoping for something that I could set my own hours and do during nap time and after the baby is in bed. That's why I only want part-time (only a few hours each week). I wondered if there was something out there that existed.

RN jobs at home?
I am wondering what jobs are available for BSN nurses who want to work from home. I would like a part time job. Because I have a baby, I am trying to avoid telephonic nursing and chart review that requires me to go onsite. Any suggestions? I currently work PRN, so I am more of a stay at home mom. If I had a master's degree, I would try to teach online.

Burned out and hate nursing
Update: I went part time and entered a masters program for education. I am loving it. I think education is my calling. I am told the pay sucks. In the end, I would rather have a job I love and be paid little instead of a job I hate and paid well. It's all about personal happiness. I feel less burned out since cutting back hours, and I am starting to love nursing again. Being back in school made me realize why I went into nursing in the first place. Thank you all for your posts and for allowing me to vent. It was nice to know that I wasn't the only super frustrated person out their. I truly hope you all find happiness in nursing. Keep searching.

Navy Reserve Nurse- when to join?
I think I remember reading that I was too old for Army and Air Force. Does anyone know the age cut off? I know for the Navy it's 40.

Navy Reserve Nurse- when to join?
I have a BSN and am currently working towards my MSN in education. I am currently a med-surg nurse. I am thinking of joining the reserves after I have earned my Masters degree. Are there any advantages to having a Masters degree in the reserves, or should I just try to join now?

Navy Reserve Nursing
Hi. I am considering joining the Navy Nurse Reserves Corp. I have been doing some research online, but I am not ready to contact a recruiter. I am currently a med-surg nurse with my BSN and am in school for my MSN in education. I have no prior military experience, but I would very much like to help our troops. What at opportunities exist for reserve nurses (ie bedside, training of staff,)? What is really happens during the 12 day training in Rhode Island? I read somewhere about having to roll around a sandbox with pigeon poo. How are the drill instructors? I read that they are constantly in your face. Do all nurses receive the same rank or is degree a factor in rank? How many years is the commitment? I read that it's 8 years if you have no military experience, but then I also read it's 3 years for nurses. Do you pick your weekends each month? What are these weekends like? Do you pick your 2 weeks each year? What are these 2 weeks like? If deployed, do you have options as to where you go? I heard that deployed navy reserve nurses are used to fill vacancies for active duty staff who have been deployed overseas. Is that a typical deployment? Thank you very much for your time. I truly appreciate it.

Burned out and hate nursing
I too feel as though Nursing is a dead end job. Many people talk up the nursing profession, but I really feel like I ave no autonomy. My organization emphasizes that nurses get to make decisions, but I find that decisions are made for us. It's quite sad. I use to have excitement and enthusiam for the nursing profession, but now I have none. I want out.

LOL. I know who Columbo is. Nursing is a second career for me. I am older than you think. While I liked my first career, it didn't provide financially for a family. I worked long hours, and I didn't have flexibility. I chose nursing because it was something I always wanted to do, and I couldn't afford to work and go to college.
