- Q's about UTA AP
First of all, I don't even live in the state of TX. I live in GA. I'm currently doing prerequisites for a college here. But 15 months to be done with my BSN sounds awfully persuading. I was wondering how the partner hospitals work. Do you have to be at a particular hospital? D they even have partner hospitals in GA? I tried to download the flyer it but kept saying that the page couldn't be found.... What is tuition? I do realize that mine would be out of state. Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks!- Career Change
Although I am not the sole provider for my family, I too debated this for quite some time. I would just keep in mind, even if it is the longer route, you can still finish your BSN. Many colleges have an RN-BSN bridge programs that only take about a year to finish and from what I understand, are mostly online and by that time, you will most likely have a job as a nurse anyway. The pay difference between ADN and BSN isn't substantial enough to have to worry about, at least while you finish up your BSN. I too have the BSN as a long term goal. I just decided myself to put off applying to the program for another four months. Originally I would've applied this August but that particular campus is 35 min away from my home. Not only that, I have a two year old that I would need childcare for and I'm pretty sure that most daycares open at 6am and not 5-5:30. I had to consider this for clinicals. So I finally decided to wait and apply to the school for the campus 10 min from my house. I know it seems like a no brainer but I was really tired of waiting and feeling like I wasn't moving forward. But in the long run its not that long, especially if it works better for my family. You will figure it out! Good luck!- BPCC Nursing Student with a "C"
I have a friend who got into our nursing program with a C. My concern is that I have too many B's. our school is on the point system as well but they did away with the interviews.- What did you think was the hardest topic in A&P?
I do think it would help to look over the material over the summer. Do stress yourself out though. also, what I found is that you build on a lot of the knowledge you acquire in a&p 1. So everything you've learned about ATP carries on... Just to give an example. In a&p 2 I found that the respiratory and digestive systems were hardest for me. When studying for my cumulative final I remembered how in depth the endocrine system was too. Hormones are another thing that continues through when you learn about a lot of other body systems as well. Good luck! I hate to say... I found a&p 1 easier than the 2nd.- Anatomy & Physiology I/II Summer 2013
I think a support group would be great. I too am retaking a&p I this summer. I made a C the first time. I went ahead and registered for the Lab as well even though I made a B. I want to get an A... I think that you just have to mentally prepare yourself. I think that is why I did better this past spring semester. I had a harder teacher and in my opinion a&p II is harder and more in depth. But I just made myself realize that before going in. Ad that is my plan for this summer as well. I have an 8 week session. But I am hoping that having already taken the course before will help. I technically know the material. It will be a great review. Also, mine is a hybrid class. Good luck!- West Georgia Tech ASN program
Okay... I'm extremely anxiety ridden about competitive selection... aug 1 I apply and here is how my grades stack up: a&p 1 C (retaking this summer) A&P 1L B (retaking) A&p 2 B A&p 2L A Psyc C (retaking) Alg B Eng B I am shooting for all A's this summer. Plus I'm retaking the teas. My psych grade is from way back when when I didn't much care about school. I think I was a little overwhelmed returning back to school after having my daughter so I think that is why I wasn't prepared for anatomy. Do you think I have a shot with all of the B's? I'm freaking out. I'm hoping I will have a decent chance due many students excited about the coweta campus and applying there. Our competitive selection process depends on the pool of grades and teas scores. Can someone ease my mind a bit?- Accepted to West Georgia Tech Spring 2013
Just wondering if I could ask you a couple of questions. I am applying for January 2014 so I have to have everything completed by Aug 1 of 2013. I'm so nervous about the whole process. I've been doing good in class but I did receive a C in BIO 2113 but my GPA is good. I have like a 3.5. Just wondering if you think I should retake it? I still have to take the TEAS, which I am not excited about and I plan on starting to study for that just as soon as this semester is over and I know it is worth 60% of the CS points. What do you think? Thanks! - Q's about UTA AP
