  1. Make sure that your stethoscope is directly over the brachial artery, even if you have to palpate for it a couple of times. Also, be sure the ear pieces for the scope fit well in the ear and are pointed forward toward your nose. Do you do the 2 part blood pressure? IF you do the 1st part gives you the expected systolic reading.
  2. I can totally relate. I had a 3.9 gpa before i started 100% nursing classes this semester. So far I have taken 3 tests and a skills check off. I got 86% on my health assessment and fundamentals tests and 100% on my pathophysiology test. Although I am glad I passed the tests I still wonder why I did not do better!
  3. I know it can be difficult but it is crucial that you understand the information to make future classes a little easier to understand. I always say that you must understand the function before you can recognize the dysfunction.
  4. I have been attending Chamberlain since Jan 2013, I am starting all nursing courses this fall and clinicals in nov. What did you want to know?
  5. I love my advisor and the girl at the front desk is great also. I think it all depends on mutual respect. I took an interest in her, enough to know where she went to school and how she was doing in her classes. She is also great with my 2 year old son running around her desk, even to the point where she will entertain him with her cell phone.
  6. Yes you are calculating incorrectly. The fees assessed are per session: $665 for creds 1-6 $200 for 7+. So if you were taking 9 credits in a session (there are 2 sessions in a semester) then you would pay (665 X 6= 3990) + (200 * 3=600)= 4590 for the session not including student service fees, books etc. Just tuition. For someone only transferring in 9-12 credits, your total would most likely be in the 70,000-80,000 range.
  7. I have been at Chamberlain Chicagop since Jan 2013, but I start all nursing classes in the fall.
  8. The manager at my Office Depot informed me that their back to school sales start around mid July, so not too much longer!
  9. Me too! Uncalendar is awesome and I always have people asking me about it.
  10. Do you have a BSN or a ASN?
  11. Check you tube for the areas you are deficient on. Sometimes hearing it from another perspective helps. Check Khan academy (youtube) they are great
  12. I am slated to graduate with my BSN in summer 2015. Finishing up my last non nursing pre req classes and I start all nursing classes in July! good luck everyone, and lets support each other along the way.
  13. They look at the Hesi and also GPA. If you are worried, you can retake the HESI
  14. yes although you may have to supplement it if this is an area of trouble. Google west coast study guide (I think). It was a great help
  15. The Hesi for Chamberlain is math, biology, chemistry, reading comprehension, vocabulary. Get the book that they recommend and see what areas you may be deficient on then supplement with external sites like you tube, quizlet, etc. I go to the Chicago campus.
