Hello! I am going to be applying to Chamberlain in Houston, and I have a couple of specifc questions that I was hoping someone could help me with. My first question is about GPA. I have a pretty low college GPA, but it's above the 2.75 requirement. I'm sitting at a 2.9. I'm studying for the HESI and hoping I can get a great grade to, hopefully, make up for some of the low GPA. My other question is this - am I allowed to use my HS GPA instead of college? I graduated in 2009 and have a much higer GPA. I never took the SAT or ACT, so I didn't know if you had to have taken one of those if you want to use your high school GPA. My other question is regarding the fees. I'm trying to calculate how much I will actually be spending. I'm in a horrible place as far as federal aid. I'm under 24, unmarried, no kids, so I have to supply them with my dad's income. He makes a lot, but most of it goes in alimony, and he can't help me with school. So, due to his income, I can't qualify for anything besides Stafford loans. He also is the only person who will cosign for me, and we got denied. I'm transferring in either nine or 12 credits, so I tried to add up how much the tuition will cost. I'm not including their estimate for books, because I plan on buying them somewhere cheaper. I'm also not including the app fee, background check, or insurance cost into my calculation. Just the $665 for my first seven credits, the $200 for each of the last 113 credits, and the $2,700 charge for all of the service fees per session. This brings my total to just under 30k. Am I doing something wrong? I keep hearing people say it's an 80-90k program, and I'm just not coming up with those figures. I hope I'm adding this up right, because if I can qualify for their last resort loan and use my Stafford loans, I'm golden. Thank you for reading this. :)
