  1. Wow congrats! Do you know how many nurses they are hiring into the PICU unit?
  2. called the manager for picu, she's out of town until next monday so hopefully more calls next week.
  3. Don't see the application under "residency/fellowship" anymore, crossing my fingers for all of us to get phone calls sometime soon!
  4. Does anyone know when applicants might be called for an interview? Is it by unit manager or does the person in charge of the Nursing Residency make the call? Ahhh the anxiety and the HOPE.
  5. Does anyone know if it's like last time where they only hired internal candidates?
  6. Good luck, I applied for PICU too :)
  7. I applied for the Torrance location near the middle of January, stills says "Application received." I applied for the San Pedro one a couple days ago, and it says "under consideration" right now.
  8. RN12PTL - did your status change?
  9. Do you mind if I ask for your resources too? I'm also in the Bay Area and know that working with children is my dream, and am looking into pediatric subacute/long-term care areas. I know of Saratoga Subacute Children's Hospital but that's it.
  10. Nursejammie, I also graduated in the summer (June) and have had no luck with any hospitals, I'm currently working at a nursing home. It would be a dream come true to have even an interview.
  11. I applied for the March 2013 program on 1/23/13 and mine currently says "Application under initial review."
  12. Does anyone know the starting paying for a new grad in st. petersburg, florida?
  13. I phoned HR a few days ago to follow up on my application. I applied on Dec. 17. They said that some of the new grad positions have already been filled, some have not. To my understanding, there are only a few positions available. Perhaps 1 in Ortho/Surgical, and a couple others in medical-surgical. I have been feeling very discouraged as my status has been "Your application is being reviewed by a recruiter. If you are among those who best meet the requirements for this position you will be contacted for an interview." for the last two weeks and still I have not had a phone call
  14. I know there were two postings for the Fountain Valley New Grad program, one closed immediately after 2 days of it being up while one was up for many days. I wonder if the second posting was faulty. I will call HR tomorrow and follow-up, thank you!
  15. Thank you for the response. I did apply and call HR to be sure, but the contact person has not returned my message yet. Oh well.
  16. I noticed on the White Memorial jobs page earlier last week that there were three postings for the Versant program. Does anyone know if that is a mistake by HR, or is White Memorial still trying to recruit more nurses for their versant program?
  17. I graduated in the middle of June and took the exam near the end of July. Give yourself an adequate amount of time to study, but do not freak out if you feel like you don't know everything. Nobody will ever feel fully prepared to take the NCLEX. If you take Kaplan, they have study guides that give you tips on how you should study depending on how much time you're willing to spend studying (8 weeks, 5 weeks, etc). I was really burnt out after graduation so I took a break for two weeks, then studied very intensely for 3 weeks and passed with 75 questions. It really depends on your studying style, but my instructors said it's best to take it before you hit your 3-month post-grad mark. Good luck!
  18. Good luck on your panel interview, and thank you for the numbers! It gives me a better idea of what the process is looking like. Do you know how many people applied in all for the UC Davis Residency program?
  19. No contact yet, did any one get a call? I hope this doesn't mean we didn't get picked :/
  20. has anyone heard from them? news comes out this week supposedly! *crosses fingers*
  21. I got the rejection email on Friday. I applied the first day it was opened on 10/27. I heard that if you are not internal, chances are slim, but the next round of applications will open up again in a few months.
  22. As a hospital under Adventist Health... I am little worried because I am not Christian. Do you know if the pre-employment questions in the beginning determine your eligibility/are weighted heavily? (Example - the questions asking about prayer...) I personally do not mind prayer but I am wondering if they are looking for a specific type of person?
  23. Hey Laogirl, I'm also interested in this hospital because I love working with kids. I applied for a few Clinical I positions on 11/10 and on 11/13, my critical care application status was changed to "forwarded to manager." Unfortunately I haven't had any news since, so I'm guessing this is a bad sign/ Do you have any additional insight into this hospital? And if you don't mind sharing, how did your interview go? Thank you so much :)
  24. No response yet either way, crossing my fingers for everybody!
  25. Sorry if you already answered this question but what time did you apply on Monday, peppered? I am anxiously waiting for a response as well I finished my application and personality assessment by 4:30pm on Monday. Maybe they are working from the order they get the apps?
