Only thing I have to say about hawkeye is I graduated from their lpn program last summer I have enough points for the rn and the gpa. Yet I am still on the waiting list to get into the rn program.

Thanks my dad always tells I can't do stuff because of where I got my lpn. I keep telling him her and I have the same scope of practice. He does not listen

Kaplan is a school.

My step mom is a Kaplan nurse. She got her lpn from there and graduated in January with her rn. I am an lpn from a local community college. She is putting **** into my dads head that since I went to a community college and did not her school that I can't work with medications. How do I deal with her putting false things into my dads head?

Why couldn't you I carry my iPod at work for spelling and new medications. Most pharmacies have stuff already calculated.

I was offered a new job. I was so excited to get away from my LTC don she always nit pick on my for everything. After putting my two weeks in at my LTC I worked at and my two weeks were up I found out my new job had no hour for me any more. I have been job less for a month now. I have only been a lpn for under a year I keep getting turned down for jobs because I don't have experience. Should I go beg for my old job back? What should I do?

I was working in a LTC I put my notice because my DON was always yelling at me for things others did. I was working this weekend and things were fine. I came to work today pulled into the office at 6am. They asked me about my phone conversations and I said they were all fine nothing bad. They then told me that they were told. By staff that some were very unprofessional. From there they said they were considering this as my resignation. They told me to leave. One can the do that and do will I get my pto paid out I gave notice they just did not want me there any more. Help!!!

She would never telling I'm doing a something wrong till she had 5 or more things to talk to me about. I feel she is always looking over my shoulder. My MDS RN has even said she thinks she has it out for me. NASCAR I wish I had you for a don.

I work in LTC as a LPN. I have a co-worker who is a LPN too and is going for her RN BSN. I have heard from many if my other nurses she does not care about the residents. There had been times where she will not do a fall report, will not note orders, contact family or pharmacy. My self and some if my other nurses are getting tired if it should someone say something to our DON? It just seems like she just want the title and the money she does not have the heart. Not to mention the CNA hate her and she goes after them if they say something to her that she does not like.

I am working in LTC and I am a new LPN. I am having to deal with an over beating DON. She makes me on edge when I'm at work and she there. How do I get over this over bearing DON.?

I have 30 on one side of my LTC and 22 on the other side. Two nurses first and second one on third. 6 CNAs on first and second and 3 one third.

And what would I of done if I would of went into the ditch with a tow band. Or I got into a crash a was killed over trying to go into work to train an extra day.

Okay I understand work is work and normally I would of stayed in town. This shift I said I would come in for was to do some bs training when I have done two other days and have other days set up. I guess I am up set about the fact my boss gave me the 3rd degree threw text. She will never answer her phone text is the only water can get a hold of her.

I live in Iowa. Well we got a very nice snow storm the week. I was not on the schedule to work, but 3 weeks ago said I would do some more training to help me with some of my work. Because of the storm I got a hold of my boss to tell them. I know if I would of been on the schedules I would of I stayed at work. My boss seems made at me for nit being able to come in to work. My I just say my way to work the dot said travel is not advised and a tow band in place. I told my boss I would make the hours of training up. Yet she still seems mad. How can I make things better and not feel like **** about not making it into work?

I was a student nurse tech at a hospital and I was told if I took my lpn boards and passed I would no longer have a job. My boss at the time told me not to take boards and I told her I had to and wanted too. I no longer work at the hospital and work as a charge lpn in long term care.

I'm a new lpn and I am being put on orientation because for the last 3 months my faxes have not been we're then need to be. I am now happy I was told about it. How do I make my doctor faxes look better. As someone told me a third grades. ( I felt that was harsh) to say to me. Help!
