  1. Thanks guys. The reason I can't take biology before A&P is because just for A&P and Medical Terminology, I have to pay 1700 cash plus 450 for books. I can't afford and don't have time to take a Biology class beforehand. I bought index cards and tons of notebooks. Anyone know of a website I can possibly study from using my index cards?
  2. The professor has me very discouraged. I just registered today at a University as a non-degree seeking student because my LPN program is at a tech school. My A&P instructor emailed me saying I'm going to find the class very difficult without a Biology or Chemistry background. The only biology I have is freshman year of highschool. I dropped out afterwards. Any tips or suggestions? I feel like I can't do it now.
  3. Thanks for the responses! I'm definitely NOT paying that much. My local university has a BSN program for 20k! Vatterott is crazy!
  4. Yes it is. $33, 000 is so much money. It's from Vatterott college..
  5. Worth it or no? The local LPN program is only 12, 000 but hard to get in, and I'd rather avoid all the icky stuff. I want to work in the health field but also as a "receptionist" so I find that being a CMA fits me perfectly.

How do you deal with it? When I have an attack I get bad diarrhea. If I just THINK about leaving the house I get an attack. I will probably get put on medication for it next week. Can you be a nurse and be on prescribed medications that are "addictive"? I don't want to live my life taking addictive pills but I also don't want to miss out on life due to anxiety.
  7. Thank you. I just want to be sure I'm making the right decision. :)
  8. I was gonna for my BSN in nursing but personally do not have 4 yrs to spend on school considering I'm only 18 with a baby. I need to earn money fast. Is being an LPN worth it? I don't want to work in a nursing home but preferably in clinics. My LPN program is at a tech school and the credits won't transfer to a bridge program. It isn't "college credit" Am I making the right choice for my son? Is LPN a good, stable career? Once I do this program... my career is over. I'll be an LPN for the rest of my life.
  9. Good luck to you! I bet it feels great to be so close to the exciting stuff! I can't wait to (hopefully) begin my nursing program.
  10. Mine are 2yrs. Start this fall, will apply for the nursing program in 2015. Hopefully get my BSN in 2017!
  11. Thank you guys. I'm going to enroll into the BSN. Just submitted my transcripts to the college so fingers crossed they accept me! I have 2 yrs of prerequisites to do.
  12. Well I just asked my husband's cousin who is a nurse..she said all of the hospitals in my area will be requiring the RN's to have a BSN. Well crap!
  13. Bump.
  14. Which is better? I've heard ADN's get more clinical experience as BSN's learn more about management and whatnot. I'm stuck on if I should go to the university for my BSN or become an LPN then bridge. (There are no straight ADN programs in my area.) I'm 18 with a 5 month old son.. I'm not sure which one would be better. I want to get my RN fast since I have a child, but Im afraid if I get my ADN they will eventually be phased out. Once I'm done with school..I don't want to go back.
  15. Well he's also getting a degree in criminal justice so he can move up the ladder quicker. But yes, police academys usually last about 11 months..at least in my area.
