Is the CNA course difficult?
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Theses post make me feel a little less nervous about the course. I hope the CNA program I am enrolling in is as helpful as the ones you guys have taken. I think I might have an advantage because I have two CNA relatives, and hopeful they can help me along the way. I have heard that the skills test is the hardest out of the two test, as well, and I think I will focus harder on that portion of the exam. Also, for some reason my CNA program is two semesters long, which is way longer than three and a half weeks, but maybe that will enable me to have a little more practice with the clinicals and such. But thank you all again for the advice and information. I truly appreciate it.

Need Advice!!
tinks599, my normal high school course load isn't all that challenging, which is why I was trying to go for some college classes. I am not working as of now, but I might pick up an extremely part-time job in the future. I am taking Chemistry and Pre-Calculus while taking these courses, but math and science are my strongest classes, so I am not worried about these. Thanks for the advice. :)

Need Advice!!
Thanks hodgieRN for so much help/advice! I think I might not take Nursing Perspectives until maybe the summer before applying to the CC, so I can be able to focus on just those other courses. My high school work is not all that challenging, which is why I wanted to try to get a jump start on college courses. I'd rather take college courses than sit around in a high school course that doesn't require me to think or learn. Anyways, thanks for all the helpful advice, I really appreciate it. :)

Is the CNA course difficult?
Hello, I am planning on starting the CNA course August 2013, but I am wondering if the course is really that hard? My mom and sister are both CNAs. My mom is very good at her job, and she's been working as a CNA for over 20 years; However, my sister is having trouble. She failed the written and the skills test her first try, but passed them both her second. She also doesn't seem as enthusiastic about her job as my mom does. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone had any difficulty with their program? What was the most difficult thing about becoming a CNA? What was the easiest? Any fun stories? I just want some information from people that are not my family. :)

Need Advice!!
Hi, I am currently a sophomore in high school, but I will be able to graduate early next year. I already know that I want to go to my local community college because I do not want to have a butt load of debt. There are 5 prereqs that are required at the CC, which are Intro to Psych, Composition I, Human Anatomy and Physiology I w. lab, Human Anatomy and Physiology II w. lab, Intro to Nutrition, and Nursing Perspectives through a Lifespan. I plan on taking Intro to Psych and Composition I during my junior (senior year) along with the CNA course as dual enrollment courses. However, I also want to take Nutrition and Nursing Perspectives online after school. Do you think this would be overwhelming? Are these classes normally hard? What are your opinions on online classes? Any information or advice is welcomed.

Hawkeye Community College LPN and RN Programs
Hi, I am currently a sophomore, but I plan on graduating high school my junior year. I have always wanted to become a nurse. My mom is a CNA, Restorative Aide, and a Med Aide; and my older sister is also a CNA. I am scheduled to take the CNA class through HCC during my junior year, and I am really excited. Anyways, I am hesitant about if I should attend Hawkeye Community College or Allen College. I have asked a lot of nurses about which they would choose and they all have said "Allen College is awesome", and "Hawkeye is pretty decent considering it's a community college". However, Allen College is A LOT more expensive than HCC, and I don't want to take out a lot of student loans. So before I make my ultimate decisions, I want to gather some opinions about HCC, the program, and their instructors. So if anyone has or knows someone who has attended either the LPN or RN program, I would love to hear about their experience with Hawkeye Community College. Thank you in advanced.
