  1. Okay. Well let's agree to disagree. Mine did not say that (and neither has any of my friends in Tennessee) and yours did. That is so odd. Oh, well. If yours did say that, I am not sure what it was worth because..... I passed. :balloons: :biggringi :monkeydance: :nurse: :kiss :roll :yelclap: :loveya: :w00t: :icon_hug: Yay! I passed with 75 questions and I soooo took my time (not because they were hard - because I didn't want to make a mistake) 2 hours and 45 minutes. Congrats! I'm sure you passed too. :nuke:
  2. The upper right hand corner had a timer counting backwards from 6 hours. The bottom right hand corner had the question number, it said Item 1, Item 2, Item 3, ... Item 75.
  3. There are 15 experimental quetions that do not count towards your score. They vary according to degree of difficulty. They may or may not be alternate-type questions (drag and drop, select all that apply, fill in the blank, hot spots). The prioritizing are "Which patient would you see first?" questions.
  4. I am in a panic. I took mine on 6/12. I have been checking Pearson Quick Results hourly even though it takes 48 hours... because I can't help myself. I had 75 questions. My Kaplan instructor told us to pretend we have 6 hours to take 75 questions and to take our time. If we go past 75, then pick up the pace a little. I took 2 hours and 45 minutes to answer 75. I was praying that it would shut off because I would have seriously ran out of time. I had 3 Select all that apply, 1 drag and drop, tons of prioritizing, one math question (oddly towards the end of my test ... like 67 or something), some crazy pharm questions, and several therapeutic communication. I thought it was pretty easy. I am hoping that is not a bad thing.
  5. Schools vary so much... The ONLY way that you are going to get an answer that is suited to you, is to call the school(s) that you are considering and ask them.
  6. Look for a career in Nursing Informatics.
  7. Radiology Tech's make more money in Tennessee, BUT you have to have an Associates as a pre-req. So, essentially it is an advanced training type scenario here. You can't be a respiratory tech, sonographer, or rad. tech without being an RN first.
  8. It depends upon what you want to do, and how far you want to advance. Hope this helps. The four-year BSN is preferred by most nursing leaders and provides the best opportunities in today's job market. If you look in the Want Ads, you'll find that a BSN is a requirement for many positions. It is the entry point for professional nursing practice. The two-year Associate Degree focuses more on technical skills than theory and is often a stepping stone to the BSN. It allows a student to become a Registered Nurse and earn money more quickly than a four-year BSN program, so it works better for many students. It is the entry point for technical nursing practice. The diploma, a 2-3 year experience was more common before the 1970s, when there were more than 800 diploma schools in existence. There are now less than 100 such schools. A diploma experience prepares students for work in a hospital or other inpatient facility. Depending on your career aspirations, this may or may not seem limiting to you.
  9. Bring the kids with you anyway. Put the ball in their court. They will either 1.) send you home. or 2.) bend the rules and let you stay. If you get fired then they are stupid they just lost a great employee.
  10. Sumner County Regional offers a LPN program, and Bordeaux Hospital has in the past.
