I've been a nurse for 1.5 years and I started out as a new grad in L and D for 7 months, I then went to M/S floor specializing in Cardiothoracic surgeries for 10 months, and now I am currently working in the NICU. The only thing that makes my job in the NICU a little easier is that I know the computer systems, other than that my MS experience wouldn't be my saving grace to work with these little ones. It's a totally different ball game. I have worked a total of 2 shifts so far and I absolutely love it.

Me too, this will be exciting, keep me updated on how things go with you and what you learn. My hospital will be sending to a bootcamp for new grad nurses in L & D coming up in July I'm excited about it, oh and I was given a book to study EFM. Have you joined awhonn yet?

Me remaining calm and having an overall positive mindset is what helped me to pass. I have an arrticle of what study materials I used, but this post is more so for those who post threads, pleading for someone to help them because they are so afraid to take their exam, and they are frazzled. I just want to people to know that they can pass their exam with a calm approach rather than afraid

I graduated in march 2014, I have an associates degree, I'm currently working on my BSN, and I just signed my new hire paperwork for an RN III in labor and delivery I start next week

I never said they lied, I actually read the bon board minutes to their meetings to see where they stood, and what I read there was that there was 100% I don't believe they would lie either. Nonetheless I know several itt-tech graduates who passed their boards the first time.

Hello, I'll be starting a new grad position in L & D soon, I have hospital orientation coming up on may 12th. I just wanted to know how many of you started out as a new grad in L & D How did you Like it? Any words of advice? and is there anything I need to buy, as far as a certain stethoscope or any tools? Thank you

No problem, I'm glad I could help you :-) I know life can get in the way at times, but as much as you can create a positive mindset no matter what! You'll enjoy school so much more, and life in general.

Hurst review online is a good option, you can print the workbooks pages and follow along with the videos, and use headphones while your daughter sleeps at night, maybe try to do 2-3 videos per night, and maybe even watch them a few times each, they are entertaining and keep you laughing, I enjoyed them

I used the online Hurst review, I printed out all of the work pages for the videos, and a few of the fifth day materials. Its was definitely worth it.
