  1. Hello all, Here I am just 10 days away from starting my LPN program!!!! Super excited and a tad bit nervous.. however, ready to get this rolling! I think I pretty much have everything I need as far as supplies not provided by the program except for a book bag..... I have seen different students in the past carry different types of bags, which is a better, more practical bag for a nursing student to get, a regular back pack, a tote, or one of those rolling back packs? What did you use and was it beneficial for you and your needs? If it's a rolling backpack, what size (dimensions)? Your suggestions and comments would be most appreciated. Thank you Jb

Pati113 - I don't know if you have bought an NCLEX-PN book yet, but I purchased the KAPLAN 2014-2015 NCLEX-PN book, 19.00 walmart site to store. It's pretty good. A couple nurses I know told me that they felt KAPLAN was one of the best books they found incredibly helpful with their NCLEX prep and test. Just wanted to throw that out to you. When do you start school? or have you already? Jb
  3. Thank you so much for your advice, It is more than helpful. I will definitely put it to use. Oh, and I am also "old" haha. Again, thank you.
  4. I know what you mean about being anxious, lol... me too!
  5. I am so glad that I clicked on your comment and took the time to read it all, awesome advice for sure. I am starting nursing school in July and have already started pumping myself up with preparation for not only the classes but the NCLEX-PN as well. I am definitely going remind myself of your advice throughout school and throughout the NCLEX when that time comes. Thank you @nwatson83
  6. Hello all, Was wondering if any of you wouldn't mind me picking your brains a little, lol, I would like some study practices, habits, tools and aides that some of you found helpful and successful for yourselves. I begin nursing school in July, So I'm preparing now... never too early right? lol Thank you very much and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you DivaLaJuicy for the information, I will take a look into that NCLEX 3000 PN.
  10. So, I am wanting to purchase an NCLEX-PN book to have with me through school. Is there a book better than others? Which book would you recommend? Thank you
  11. 7237dallas - I have also heard of people buying the NCLEX-PN book to use during school and have heard that it has helped them out a ton. I definitely plan on purchasing one for myself as well. I will also look into the book you mentioned, the prioritizing and delegation. I can use all the study/learning tools I can get my hands on, lol. I definitely want to be prepared and successful. I haven't heard of the nursing clipboard though, sounds like a good idea. Can I get that at any store or do you have to purchase it somewhere special? Are you in school now or are you getting ready to start soon?
  12. Hello all! I start my journey to becoming an LPN at the end of July. I'm super stoked and cannot wait. Although everyone is from different areas and all LPN programs have their own required supplies list... What I am wanting to know, get ideas on is... What supplies do you recommend that will assist me through the program and my studies? such as study aides etc... Thank you
