LPN or BSN
Speaking from experience, I would go for your ASN because the stigma against LPNs is huge. Also, as above commenters stated, your job opportunities would be limited.

Will LPN's be around for long?
As an LPN who is working through an RN program right now, here are my thoughts: the experience I have as a 4-year LPN has been invaluable. I have a strong knowledge base, my interpersonal skills are good, meds don't scare me any more. At he same time, I see how restricted LPNs are in my area and I would say go right to RN. You'll get the experience after graduation and you'll save your self oodles of time.

Should I drop out of nursing school?
nursing school is *hard*-every single nurse will tell you that!! But, like me, you'll find your niche. I happen to love medsurge, but absolutely hated my ob/peds rotation-tp each their own. Don't drop out-finish, work in a few different areas, see if you like it and then move on if you don't. Good luck!

recently took the nclex-pn!
I also stopped @ 85 questions, and tried the re-registering trick...and what do ya know, I passed. =) Good luck!

LPN and IV/Phlebotomy certifications
Hi all! I am pondering going on for my RN or staying as an LPN and getting more certifications. I've been working in acute care and doctor's office settings for nearly 2 years now, and am pretty content to stay put license-wise....(aside from the snarky "just an LPN??" remarks...) Thoughts from nurses who have been, well, nursing longer than me? Thanks!!

New lpn grad, starting in urgent care?
Just do it! The best way to learn is to just take a leap. The above comment is correct, nothing you cannot handle.

Got my first nursing job!!
being on your own as a nurse is a great feeling, huh? =D

Do you expect the CNA to wash all patients in the day shift?
yes and no-as a former tech, I know how busy techs are with all of the little things that the nurses do not or cannot get to. On the other hand, nurses have more responsibilities than techs...so it depends on the day, patient load (I work on a busy oncology/medsurge floor), etc.

LPN/LVN vs. RN?
Anyone have any advice on going for your LPN versus RN? (in NY state)

LPN to RN?
thank you! I have no problem being an LPN-I know what I'm doing, my patient care is superb-but some (definitely not all) RNs make it their job to be demeaning.

A&P 1 help!!
I'm taking A&P 1 this semester (11 weeks to go...) and I am a bit overwhelmed...we're starting the skeletal system, and wondered if anyone can give me tips on how to prepare for the lab practical? There are so many (obscure) bones to memorize. Thanks for any help!

LPN to RN?
Hi all! I'm an LPN with a year of excellent experience (I work on a medsurge/oncology floor at a busy hospital). I always said I would stay an LPN, I had no desire to got for my RN, so on and so forth. But I never realized how LPNs are treated! I put in all of the work, stress and tears of nursing school to be looked down on by petients/fellow nurses because of 1 less year of training. I still have no desire to go for my RN...but have unwillingly started my pre-reqs (A&P, Micro, and Chem). Thoughts?
