  1. Took the test Sat May 24th. Did the PVT in the parking lot outside the building and got the good pop up. Got the quick results on the 26th and I did pass. Love the PVT!
  2. I start the 20th of August with my first semester. I will have fundamentals, meg/surg 1, medication math, pharmacology, and the associated clinicals.
  3. I love the sales. They are dangerous! I can't wait till they start. If anyone finds good deals I'd love for people to post them!
  4. I definitely recommend getting to FAFSA done. The FAFSA will send it to your school and hopefully get the process rolling. If at that point they say no ask them about an exception to policy. Each school I've encountered had some process of getting it approved. They may not be familiar with it if they don't encounter it too much. You are way under your limits so there is no reason that they shouldn't approve it, especially since you are already accepted into the program, not just doing pre-reqs.
  5. Hi! I'd love to join the group. My Facebook is not cooperating and gives me an error when I try to message you. I added my Facebook to my profile if you want to add me or friend me :-)
  6. Hi! I'm in the same boat as you, starting LPN in the fall and I have a BS already. You are actually able to get federal loans if your school will approve it. The feds only concern is if you have hit your max loan limit, which is 20-some thousand for subsidized and 50-some thousand for all fed loans if you are an independent student. I was able to get federal loans, I just had to fill out an exception to policy form for my school. You aren't eligible for grants anymore though and most scholarships. Another option is to get private loans, which you can get up to the cost of attendance amount that your school sets. You can get those through credit unions and banks, discover, and sallie mae. Hopefully you can get it all figured out.
  7. I totally understand. It didn't feel real until orientation when they called my name in roll. I'm excited and scared at the same time. I have to keep telling myself that this is actually happening.
  8. I start Aug 20th. Can't wait!
  9. Me too! At first I thought it was strange but it's nice to know if something happens I will have my Lpn after a year. You never know what life may throw your direction!
  10. Hi everyone! I start NS in late August. It's a program where the first year you get your Lpn, then if you do well and complete all the requirements, you continue the next year to get you ADN. So I will finish with my ADN in May 2015. Wow that seems far away! We had our orientation already and I am excited! I've already bought my scrubs, shoes, and many of my books. Working now on getting the physical done and background check completed. Hubby is deploying a few weeks before my school starts so we are taking the summer to do several big family vacations just us and the kids. I know this summer will fly by and then it's nose to the grind stone. We have four kids so this will be a challenge doing school but I'm ready for the challenge.
  11. Thank you for posting these! I ordered one as a present to myself for getting into nursing school in the fall!
  12. I too am at a community college with prereqs after having a bachelors. You can get loans if you did not max them out the first time around. I was able to get loans since I hadn't maxed mine. I had to fill out a form explaining why I was over the credits and the school had to approve it. It can be done, so fill out the Fafsa and talk to the college financial aid office. Good luck to you!
  13. Me! I just dropped off my application today (deadline Mar 1) and we won't hear back until about April 1st. I only applied to one school so I really hope I get in. This waiting is going to kill me!
