Thanks for your input. Hard to find feedback about Simmons online. I wonder if later in the program, the focus would have changed to apply more to FNP skills? Anyhow, thx!

For those that have made it through some of the Simmons FNP program, could you share what the work load was like during a term where there were 3 classes (part time track).

I was able to read over the ncbon website especially the clinical requirements of outside institutions. The main schools I've been considering are listed and aproved. Is there anyone who is currently attending or have completed GWU NP program and willing to share their experience? Is the workload manageable while working and having kids? How was it finding clinical placements? Would you recommend the program? Thanks for any info at all!

Hi all. I am looking to apply to RN-MSN FNP online programs in the near future. I have done a good bit of research and spoke with several counselors at different schools. AllNurses has been an awesome resource for nurses to post their personal experiences with many of the schools I'm interested in. I've received lots of feedback and information from ppl that have actually attended Simmons College and Chamberlain. I was able to get a good feel for the course workload and responsiveness and availability of staff and overall reputation of the program. I live in SC but work in Charlotte, NC and so was interested in NC online FNP programs as well however there isn't an abundance of ppl that have actually attended the programs who are sharing their experience...good, bad or otherwise. The only posts I seem to find are ppl waiting on acceptance letters or interviews, but no concrete reviews of their personal experience with the school and it's program. Is there anyone who has attended or personally know someone who has attended an online FNP program in NC and can comment on the reputation or whether would recommend the program again?

Hi. I live in South Carolina but work in Charlotte, NC. Was there any problems or concerns attending Simmons being that NC has certain requirements that Simmons doesn't meet? How has the program been so far? Anything you wish you had of known beforehand? I am married and have a 1 yr old and I work PT nights 12 hrs. Do you find the workload overbearing for family and working? Would greatly appreciate your input!

Oh wow thanks so much for sharing. I want to start this year in 2016 and was looking through old posts and I was so happy to find yours! I have a 1 yr old and a husband who might as well as be a 1 yr old when it comes helping around the house. I work part time 12 hrs nights and feared the heavy work load I hear so much about with Simmons and my MANY responsibilities at home. The cost turns me off especially considering I can go to Chamberlain for cheaper which I hear very good reviews about. But it seems to be such an outstanding education online as well. Can I pm you or can you update on how home life survived during clinicals?

Hi DeLynn. I'm hoping to start at Durham Regional at the end of Nov as a travel nurse. It will be my first assignment. Can you tell me how it was? I should be working on MS Orthopedic floor. Did you float to other floors? Most importantly, where did u find housing? Apparantly even with the housing stipend I will only be making $1100/wkly. So I need safe and decent (no bugs) housing for a great price. Thanks in advance.

Hello. I am interested in working at Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC. If anyone works there or know anyone that works there, can you share some information about the hospital? Up to date facility, reputation of the hospital, how do employees feel about the facility, nurse turn-over rate, etc. Also can someone share on the lifestyle/living in Orangeburg, Columbia, Charleston area? I'm very interested in the facility. I tried citysearch and all other types of online information to try and get information about the hospital and city, but not very much available. Thanks so much for any information at all.

Alright. I've visited OU Medical Center, but didn't get to see much of OKC. Everyone mentioned Edmond or Norman as a good place to live. A nurse suggested living in North OKC to be closer to work. Does anyone from OKC have any suggestions about a good area to live. I've heard to stay away from NE side and South side. How are the The Links at Norman apts? What about Village at Quail Springs, Prairie Springs (Phase 2), Post Oak? Any apartment suggestions that are nice with a decent reputation are welcomed. I don't want to sign a lease until I come out to see the apartment, but I will be putting one on hold as I have already lost a decent apartment because it was taken before I got out there. Is there stuff to do in Norman? What about Edmond? Or does everyone come to OKC for shopping, nightlife and mingling? I am 29 years of age. I'm not sure the college town of Norman is my pace or not, but I want suggestions. The apartments I'm interested in seem to run around $800 for 2 BR. That seems pretty steep to me, but I just want to make sure I enjoy where I'm living and am fairly safe. Please, any and all suggestions are welcome. OU Medical HR hasn't offered any suggestions of where to stay. So I'm totally clueless about which apartments are nice. Apartmentratings.com has very bad reviews about all the apartments I am interested in. Someone please advise or personally email me. I have to re-book flights, hotel and find an apartment by THIS MONTH. I've already delayed the move once due to no apartments being available. So thanks in advance for your help.

I finally found a job! Thank God. The search is over. It is in Oklahoma City, OK. I went out to visit and it seemed laid back and easy going. Traffic wasn't a huge problem. Now I'm having to find an apartment and am not sure of where to live. I know about Norman and Edmund. I spoke with HR but they still could not point out reputable apartments that other employees have stayed and would recommend. So I need some help from anyone who could lend some advice on some nice and decent apartments in OKC and surrounding.

I am moving to OKC in September. Could someone tell me a nice and decent apartment home to live in. I hear about Edmond and Norman, but what particular apartments are nice and safe. Don't want to have to rely fully on internet pictures. Thanks

Yes it is definitely difficult to find a job as a new grad over here, but I thought that was everywhere. I've applied to 150 jobs all over US. I'm just ready to learn how to be a nurse. I'm hoping to find a hospital that will give me a good foundation. Thank you so much for your input. This site is so helpful in situations like this. I would have never found anyone from OK to get such input. Thanks again.

What hospital are you working? Did you find the pay ok relative to the cost of living in the area? I would appreciate any feedback.

Hope all is still going well in OK. I am from Rock Hill, SC which is close to Charlotte, NC. I was wondering about Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, OK. How is the town of Lawton? Rural, suburb? I am a new grad. It seems to offer comprehensive services and has 283 beds. The hospital I precepted/rotated in had 288 beds. How are the nurses and staff? How is the pay? What's there to do? Thanks for any input.
