  1. Thanks for all the great advice! Where do I get a pocket reference and do you know any specific types for L&D???Thanks, Pugs
  2. I am a new grad (May, 05) and I just finished orientation in L&D. The problem is I still feel so overwhelmed and for lack of a better word "heavy" when I get home. I usually have a good cry and feel some better. I feel so inadequate and like I don't know what I am doing. I want to know if any of this is normal and if so how long does it last??? How long before I feel competent?? Do I need therapy or some anti anxiety med?? Help, i feel like I am crazy! I was a good student and all my life wanted to be a labor nurse so this is soooo difficult for me. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! PugsRN
  3. I definitely got the last one wrong and I did pass. That must just be a myth. Good luck! Pugs, RN
  4. I definetly got my last question wrong and I passed. I had 125 questions. Good luck! Pugs
  5. I cannot hardly believe it, but I passed!! I am an RN!!! I got the license and cetrificate in the mail with my name on it ! What a great day!!! I know God helped me and I could not have done it without Him! Praise the Lord! I start my job next Tues. in Labor and Delivery as a real RN!!! WOW!!! Thanks to all who helped encourage me and to all who hane not taken it yet, You Will Pass. Simply Trust! :balloons: Liz RN :yelclap:
  6. Yea Pie!!!!! I made it too! :roll
  7. What's the number and what state are you in???? CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I am not sure if you can tell definitely but the review class I went to said prioritizing and delegation questions were higher level while general knowledge based questions were lower level. The herbal questions are also considered higher level although I don't know why. :)Pugs
  9. Thanks Kimisu! You have given me a bit of hope. What state are you in? I thought we were the only sllooowwww one! Pugs
  10. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! You have given me hope (I'm in my forties 2 and have 2 teenager). Isn't 76 a weird number of questions? I got 125 which I also thought was weird. Pugs
  11. HVe you read my posts? I really feeled I failed . I took mine on the 31st and it just has sucked the life out of me. Made me feel stupid and incompetent! I missed the last question at 125 and I think this is a sure sign of failure. If you could just post what you did between the 1st and 2nd time that would be helpful. I need some confidence and assurance right now. Thanks, Pugs
  12. because it was so incredibly easy and I looked it up and I missed it
  13. I am still confused by all this. Isn't it true that if you miss the last question when the computer shuts off you failed? I had lots of prioritizing but also lots of knowledge based level 1 questions which made me feel stupid and another reason why I feel like I failed. Where can you read about how CAT is scored? Thanks.
  14. I just took nclex this am and if I had to bet my life I failed, I would. I got 125 questions and I missed the last question which was a level 1 question. So embarrassed that I won't even say what it was. So where do I go now? I took a review course and practiced questions every night. I'm so depressed. I felt like I forgot everything I knew during the test. I live in a state where we can not get our results via the web or by calling, so now its a waiting game. Any words of wisdom for what to do next????Pugs
  15. Mine is at 9:30 also. Four of my friends took it yesterday and said 90% was on delegations and prioritizing pts. All of theirs cut off at 75. I'm praqying mine shuts off by then. Best of luck!
  16. I will have done about 2000 by then. Hope that's enough!Pugs
  17. I am taking test 5-31 and I'm freaking out here! I took Rayfield review (which was great by the way) and I'm doing theirworkbook a chapter a day plus answering questions on Saunders and Lippincott CDs. I still feel like there is sooooo much I don't know. I am still scoring in the 70's. Helllp, I need some encouragement from those of you who have taken it. Thanks! Pugs :uhoh21:
  18. Congratulations!!!!!!!
  19. :balloons: COngrats!!!!!!!! :balloons:
  20. Good for you!!!!!!!!!!!Congrats!!!
  21. I am graduating in May 05 and I am doing my preceptor in L&D in a local hosp. Because they are short staffed at area hosp. they are hiring new grads for any and everything. I live in Alabama and I am 43. I say go and get your degree if that is something you want to do and I think you can find the L&D job somewhere. That is what I did and its looking like I will have a job in L&D when I graduate. :) :) :)
  22. I like Lippincott, but it is all mult. choice. Also a big help for me is Nursing Made Insanely Easy by Sylvia Rayfield. Good Luck!! :)
  23. :roll :roll :balloons: You all give me hope!!!!Congrats RN!!!!!
  24. CONGRATULATIONS RN!!!!!!!!!
  25. Great news!!!!!Way to go VERONICA, RN
