Chattahoochee Technical College
I don't work for the school, I go to the school. I was accepted to a program and currently attend nursing classes at this school. CTC is wonderful and the teachers are great! This Bumpee person came onto MY thread telling my LPN class that we made a mistake signing up for classes at CTC. First of all we are not even in an ADN class like Bumpee is talking about and maybe you should go look at where Bumpee works because they certainly liked to hype up about GA highlands...

Go away bumpee- you obviously were denied into the program and you're butthurt over it. If you look online it says our school is accredited and they can't say they are if they are indeed not accredited. Like I said on my other FORUM for my accepted class in CTC- good luck with Highlands. Lol.

And I'm sure you need to know proper spelling and grammar to get into that school also... Just saying...

Chattahoochee Technical College Spring 2013
Good luck getting into Highlands with the other 500+ applicants and then they tell you that you also need US History, Georgia history and 2 years of chemistry. We all have our own opinions of other schools. Your post is useless here...

Is there a flu outbreak in your area?
Why do you say this?! You're scaring me. I have to get the shot for my program starting on Monday! Actually we need them for clinical which don't start till March, but either way... I guess I still need one then. I don't want to get sick! I've had the flu once this year in October and I thought I was going to die! I don't need it again!

Roll Call: Starting Sp 2013 LPN
I begin school in January and I am ECSTATIC! I have been working on this degree since 2007. I've had a share of bad luck, bad relationships, and a couple of great babies since then, but now I am ready to start this journey! My family is buckling down not only for the holidays, but a huge change of pace next year. I have been a stay at home mom since May 2011 and I feel like I am grieving over not seeing my children anymore. My youngest, my son who is 2.5 yo, starts school full-time this week and I am heart broken! I have purchased 4 out of 5 of my books, and tomorrow I am picking up my new iPad mini! I am preparing to go to nursing orientation this upcoming Tuesday... I am so excited and grateful!! Also, I will graduate in December 2013...

I'm feeling burnout already. Anyone else?
Just keep in mind all the good things you will be able to do once you are a nurse. All the passion you will be able to share and all they help you will be giving to sick or injured people! Think of all of the students who did not make it in and are still waiting for a letter of acceptance. That should help you get your motivation back! If you look at all the positive you will feel positive, but if you look at the negative you may feel negative! You made it this far! Farther than most! You can do it! Good luck to you!:)

Have you ever caught someone cheating?
I would definitely not offer to be study buddy with them. Don't get caught up in it. We have a few people in our class that have cheated and I would hate to be associated with them just because once they are caught, and they will most likely be caught, I do not want any association with them- it's simple for them to point the finger to you also!! Stay away. I would give the teacher a heads up for sure. An anonymous note on the teachers desk or even letting another faculty member know so they can pass it on to your instructor. Maybe an advisor or the director of the program. I am sure they would understand- I am positive they didn't get to where they are with cheating! Good luck my fellow nursing student! Whatever the outcome- keep your head up!

Chattahoochee Technical College Spring 2013
Hey everyone! I was just wondering what everyones' thoughts were about starting a Facebook page for our class?! I saw that the Paulding Class 2011 had one and it is a closed members only group so that if you aren't accepted in then you can't see what is on the page. I thought this might be a good way for us all to get to know each other better and also to get each others contact information in case we have a break down in our vehicles or need help studying... etc. Just a thought. Let me know and I will be happy to create one for us!

And the LPN program is a little less competitive than the RN programs, less people apply for it and the TeAs score was a little lower set. We still had to be selected for 24 seats out of a bunch of applicants!

I was on track to RN but I lost my financial aid and could not afford my microbiology. I also scored a 81.3% on TeAS and the cut off for RN was like an 84% so instead of waiting another year to reapply- I decided to apply for the LPN program and begin something!! I gave you info on KSU and ga highlands for the RN program though... I don't believe they have the lPN program. Chatt tech will be opening the bridge from LPN to RN in 2014, right when I am finished!!! :)

Chattahoochee Technical College Spring 2013
Eddie- Definitely get your pre-reqs out of the way. Find out which each school needs for their nursing programs and then get the highest scores on them! Especially the science classes which will most than likely weigh on whether or not you make it into a program. I do not personally know how KSU or Georgia Highlands operates. I know I did talk with Georgia Highlands and on top of all the classes I had taken at Chatt Tech, they wanted me to take History and Chemistry. KSU is a good school- it is quite large! But they gave me a bad taste in my mouth when I drove all the way to Kennesaw, got lost on their campus, and then finally found the administration building to talk to someone about the nursing program and which credits would transfer- and all they gave me was a phone number on a sticky note. I was so upset. They told me they did not have any time to discuss it with me, but if I called them they would help me, it made NO SENSE! But its whatever. I might do my BSN with KSU eventually, but for now I am sticking with Chatt Tech through LPN school and then my LPN-RN bridge. As for easiness to get into the program... good luck finding anything "easy" to get into. It is all competitive, but if you get those grades, and a TEAS score- you can do it!! I do know Georgia Highlands had 900+ applicants on their last admission into a nursing program, but I do not know how many seats they had. Chatt Tech has 24 seats for the programs with probably 100 or so applicants. And KSU is probably around 1000+, but they most likely have more seats available! Good luck Eddie and I hope I was some help!
