Night Shift For Newbies
I work 4:30p-5am so by the time I get home, shower, eat, and go to bed, the sun is starting to rise so its easier for me to go to sleep. I have definitely thought about buying blackout curtains. I eat breakfast when I get up around 2pm and have dinner around midnight. I have never really had much of an appetite, so thats what works for me. I do munch on candy at work and drink energy drinks to stay up. Thankfully there's a gym at the hospital, so I can work out, shower, and start my shift. They are open 24 hrs so if I need to, I can go after I get off. I'm still new to night shift so I will definitely take your advice.

The flu shot making people sick
Its required at the hospital I work at. We get a badge saying "I got the flu shot because I care", and those that get a doctor's note to opt out, get a different color badge that says "I wear a mask because I care". I learned this week that its not the actual flu that causes the body aches and terrible feeling, instead its the ANTIGENS against the flu that cause the feeling! So in essence, the body aches and fever are a good sign that the shot actually works. I got mine for the first time a few weeks ago and had some aches, but it wasn't nothing out of this world.

Becoming a Pediatric Nurse
I went to the most expensive 4-yr university in my area. Its not easier to get into a hospital. Some people that went to the community college obtained jobs before I did. As far as getting into a reputable CRNA program, go to a reputable BSN program, make sure to keep your GPA high/competitive, work in an ICU for at least 2 years, and get good recommendation letters. I would try to have a meeting with nursing recruiters from the university that you might want to attend to see what they look for so that you can plan ahead.

Failed Nclex RN 3 times, I don't know how to answer these ques
I'm sure its nerve-wracking to take the test 3 times. I can't imagine being in your shoes. I used Kaplan and Saunders, but you said you have already used both and know all the questions. I also used the NCLEX and HESI study guides that I founf on this website. It went over basics labs and main points for certain disorders. I recommend double checking all values with your books because some of them were wrong. Do as many questions as you possibly can; I did about 3500 Qs before my NCLEX. Try going back to the basics, use the decision tree from Kaplan, and try not to over think what the questions is asking. Dont think "what if this" or "what if that". Whatever info they give you, is what is needed to answer the question. For priority questions, think, "If there is only ONE thing I can do for this patient to save his/her life or to make the best possible outcome, what would it be?" Also think what would be the outcome for the answer that you have selected. The problem that I had when I began studying was that I would read too fast through the questions. I practiced WRITING the main point of the question, and what the outcome would be for each answer. In the NCLEX, even if you dont answer all 265 by the time the 6 hr mark hits, they only count the last 60 questions, so take your time; breathe through each question, take your breaks, and if you feel overwhelmed, take a small break, or just close your eyes for a minute and refocus. These are some of the things that I did to overcome the monster named "NCLEX RN" Good luck! and I hope you can find a study partner and pass the next time you take the test!

I passed the NCLEX!
I take my test in 21 days! I've been doing 150-200 questions per day for about 2 weeks already. I read the Kaplan RN Course Book and have completed the QBank and QTrainers 1-6. I'm doing questions from my Kaplan Strategies book and NCLEX 4000. I'm reading the rationales for ALL of the questions even the ones I get right. I'm not freaking out yet, but I feel as the days go by, my anxiety rises...
