Why working as an ED nurse so competitive?
To be honest I don’t feel it was hard at all. I got my first nursing job at a county hospital in Miami in the ED. They were hiring like crazy. I moved to Houston 5 months ago. I can tell you that my new ED is also hiring like crazy. I have never been to an ED that isn’t hiring like crazy. ED’s are the new revolving door specialties. People get burnt out from being physically and mentally drained for the entire 12 hours every time you’re at work. I would apply apply apply. I know you’ll get in. Don’t quit, go for what you want. You got this!

I am new to nursing but I don't want to do this anymore
I'm not going to over complicate this answer. You don't know me but trust me all of us here have been where you're at. Soooooo, trust me, it gets better. You will become more efficient and learn your own way of getting things done. You'll learn that you can't do everything and you'll make peace with that. In less than a year you'll be a sarcastic jaded nurse like the rest of us. Lol, hang in there, I promise you're going to enjoy the freedom that being a nurse gives you when you're not at work.

Best Techniques to study Pharmacology for nursing
Man do I need I need help in Pharm. I am in Pharm 1 now in my nursing program and I am failing by 3 points. We only have 2 test and a final in this Pharm which I think is asinine but hey I'm just a student so what do I know. It's still doable for me but I need to score a low 80 from 75 questions. Pharmacology seems so hard. I am going to try to see if I can break it down into sections the way some of you have suggested, thanks for the incite.

Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014
I'm in my second semester at the Davie campus. You don't have a whole bunch of classes on the same day so you don't need to upgrade your book bag. However, if you stay at school to study after class and don't like having to walk back to your car I might consider another bag. I've seem people with huge bags, people with just the string style light bags, and people with no bags. It's really just up to your preference. Also, some books you can get in ebook format if you're comfortable with that.

You'll be fine, just put in the work. I wasn't trying to scare you, just help what you're focusing on. Definitely pay attention to anatomy but focus most of your energy on physiology. The anatomy is just like the prerequisites anatomy so if you keep that fresh in your mind you'll be good. The physiology however is much more detailed than in the prerequisites. I would read up on the physiology of all the body systems you went through in your prerequisites. Again, just work at it and you'll do great.

What were your experiences? (Please Read)
Haha, I love the reply. I'm only in my first semester at a University in South Florida but my wife who is a nurse believes I would like neuro ICU. First post that came up when I decided to get some info. Congratulations on passing your NCLEX in 75 questions and officially becoming an RN. Haha, awesome reply.

Haha, enjoy your free time now, Gigi, you're hilarious! She's right though, time will not be your friend but it is definitely doable if your willing to work for it. For me so far physio has been a humbling experience. I'm use to getting A's and it is not happening for me so far the first semester. Congrats to all that have been accepted. It's a great school and so far the professors have been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Personally, the cohort I came in with during Winter of 2014 are a great bunch of people, I hope you guys are fortunate enough to have the same. Study up on your anatomy, but really study up on your physiology. At Nova, they are credited as one class but it's really two separate classes. The anatomy and physiology professors are fantastic though and they do a great job of explaining the material. Understanding the concepts is entirely up too you.

Congratulations bruh! I just got accepted into Nova SouthEastern University program in Ft. Lauderdale for the 2014 Winter term. I'm not planing on working personally but I too have a great woman who is holding me down. We planned this a few years back. I put her through nursing school and now she is returning the favor. I was just looking around at this section and read the reply post from everyone. Just wanted to let y'all know that you guys are awesome positive people and I appreciate y'all also. Lol, feeling the positivity on this thread. Again, congratulations bruh. Now let's get it!- Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014
I appreciate the heads up. Pretty sure all of us know that nursing school is not at all easy. We got this far so, so pretty sure we know that its going to take a major amount of studying, and that our social life will take a turn towards disappearing.- Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014

What's the title of the Facebook page started for the winter 2014 cohort at the main campus?- Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014
Got my official email of acceptance today for main campus. Pretty darn excited, life has been on hold since last May when I finished all my prerequisites. Going to put in my 2 months notice at work today, and start prepping for having no life beyond school for the coming 7 semesters.- Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014

I heard last week that I got put on HOLD ?. I don't know what it was, but it was possibly my overall 66 on the Kaplan. Nothing I can do about it except wait and study for the TEAS. I also have an open house on Oct 31st for Chamberlin. I'll make it work somewhere if I don't get accepted. While taking my prerequisites I really focused my attention on getting the best GPA I could. I really thought that was the deciding factor to get into these programs. Now that I am in the process I can see that its so much more competitive to get in than just your GPA.- Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014
I got a 66% which is horrible but like I said there wasn't really enough notice to study or it the way one would need to in order to do extremely well on it. I've been out of school working fulltime waiting to get into a program since last May so I can't say I studied well enough for it. I'm hoping my GPA and interview went well enough for them to consider me.- Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014
Don't be too worried. The Kaplan was kind of just told to us it was a requirement 3 weeks before the interview. They did say the test was just going to be taken into account, but it wouldn't be the only factor in their decision. If u did well on the interview, essay, and your GPA is strong I feel like that is something they cannot ignore and hopefully for you and I both the Kaplan doesn't play the major part in their decision.- Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014
Anyone who had their interview for the main campus on Oct 9th heard anything yet regarding acceptance? Today is 2 weeks and I still don't have any information. I'm just a little anxious. - I Made it Through!
