Thank you for your post and thoughts! Yeah I am applying to both ADN and LVN programs and I have heard LVN is way harder just because you have so much to learn in such a short amount of time. I will be happy getting into any nursing program, but I rather do ADN first, Im just not sure if I can with my GPA. I will sure try though!!!!!!!! Are you in school now or are you finished?

Is there a link someone can put on here so i can see what EXACTLY the prereqs are for lonestar's LVN program? I am having trouble finding it!

Sorry I am going to vent. I work full-time, have 2 kids (1 and 2 years old) and am TRYING to get into a program. I did ALL my prereqs for the programs i am applying for (or will be) but I haven't passed the math portion on 2 entrance exams so I have to redo those. I am supposed to be studying for math daily but I don't know when i have the time?! My job is so super stressful (the most stressful job I have EVER had) and by the time I get off and pickup the kids from daycare, feed them, bathe them, and play with them and THEN put them to bed I am EXHAUSTED. I need to find a balance but I don't know if that is possible. The main thing is my stressful job! I KNOW I can do nursing! I have the drive for it, but I have to get over this hump in the road. I hate math and have ALWAYS been horrible at it. I need some motivation y'all! Nursing is the ONLY thing I want to do and know I can do. I just want to get into a program already! Oh and when I get it in, I wont be working!!!!

ALL math. I mean of course I know the basics but it's mainly algebra. I would go to the tutoring my school offers, but I work during the time they give it. IDK what else to do.

It's for ACT math. I have to pass the ACT with a certain score and the math is the ONLY portion I am having a horrible time with!

Flashcards!!! It's all about memorizing EVERYTHING!!! I took A&P 1 years ago and received a C as well. I retook it and got an A. I took notes in class and from those notes created flashcards that I studied everyday. If you have an iphone, you can download flashcard machine and create notecards from there or you can go online to www.flashcardmachine.com and make flashcards. You can then transfer the sets you create to be synced to the iphone app on your phone. It's pretty cool and handy!

So I took the COMPASS test today as a prereq and did awesome on everything BUT MATH!!!!! I am horrible at math!!! Does anyone have an tips for doing well in math?

I am in the same boat. I am 25 about to be 26 and am applying to 2 LVN programs and 1 ADN program. I PRAY I get in. I know I can do it, but my GPA isn't the best since I used to never take school seriously until I FINALLY figured out what I wanted to be... A NURSE :)

Thanks, yall! I am still going to apply. I have B's in all my sciences. I have a C in both compositions and speech. I wish I would have known what I wanted to do since day 1, but better late than never! :)

Oh and I have mainly B's in all my prereqs with 3 C's and a couple A's.

my GPA is a 2.5. I screwed around my first few years of college and didn't take school seriously. 2 years ago I decided I wanted to do nursing and I have been dedicated ever since. I finished all my prereqs, now I just have to take the TEAS, ACT, and do CPR (im applying for 3-4 diff programs for LVN and ADN programs). I KNOW I can do it, I just don't know if my previous college years will come back to haunt me. Is it possible to get accepted into an ADN or LVN? I am very determined and KNOW I CAN DO IT!!!! Any thoughts? Please!!

So I took the TEAS V a couple months ago and passed everything BUT the science by 1 point. I didn't study the way I should have. Does anyone have suggestions on how and what to study for this test?
