Smart Pens?
I personally don't have one, but one of my classmates uses it. She told me at first it was like a new toy, but she's trying to force herself to use it (It's because she's not an audio learner) my suggestion would be to first know your learning style. And to those saying about HIPPA and the Smart Pen, you uses a smart book that goes with it. I like to use a binder with regular paper.

Not impressed and depressed
First, welcome to nursing. You need to find someone that you can sit down and talk with, you already seem very stressed and school has not started..take care of you, in order for you to take care of those in need.

Bio Major wanting to Switch, Need Advice
If nursing is what you want to do, then go for it. Remember with a Bio degree you can teach or do research, you can get a job with that degree faster, and I mean faster than a nurse position. You can get a job before you graduate. As somone above mentioned, about financial aid once you have a Bachelors, that's very true. ( get the credits close to finishing) If I was in your position this is what I would do, apply to the nursing program work on your prerequisites and in the mean while try to get close to finishing up credits for the Bio, you can always fall back on that, if things does not work out. And if you want to go back to the Bio, then you do not have many credits to finish. Good luck and keep us posted.

Curious Question
Your Facebook page is your Facebook page, once created it can't be deleted, because they know you'll be back. You have to realization what's important, and what needs your attention more. About pics and your future career- that's bull- change your last name to your middle name, so you'll only be connected to people who you want to find, instead of the other way around. Good luck.

Nursing students get any assistance from the government if school wont let you work?
First thing congrats on getting into nursing school. You can do anything you put your mind to, you did not mention if you have a family or not. But as I said before it's durable. If you are single, you can move into a room or get a roommate and share some of your bills, if you have a family then you need to figure that. There are lots of programs out there, at my current school a lot of the people are collecting unemployment and they also qualify for food stamps, book vouchers you name it, I'm still trying to learn all what's available. I did not qualify for financial aid, but was advised by one of their advisor to apply for something that was available for people that already has a degree, I applied and was approved. And I work prn, go figure. With you working full-time, as you get more into the program you may need to lessen up your workload or as someone above suggested to go prn. Again if you want it badly you'll get it...Good Luck.

Common Misconceptions of myself as a Nurse Aides/Medication Aides
Great post *_*' (tears in my heart) I could not do the job as a CNA/MA as a lifetime, you know what you are capable of doing. GOD bless you. I'm currently a RNstudent and made that comment from what I have seen, patients are being treated as thought they are on an assembly line. They are always short staff, 7:1 CNA ratio, the nurses are always busy, and always saying to go get the "aide" "it's the aide's job" again my comment is only from my experience.

Deciding between OHSU and BMCC
I must agree with the above comment. In the end you need that BSN, get it now. See which of the school will give you more financial aid, go to the school and speak with current students. Good luck.
