I try to stay away from these people, but its hard when you have to work side by side with them. management need to step up, and stop it but they dont even care.

how do you deal with a bully co worker that has othe r nurses acting just like her? these women are cruel and vindictive, and go after anyone that displeases them. Im sure this bully nurse has been a bully all her life. her co horts seems to like her and go along with her. the head nurse is no help.in fact no one over the head nurse will help with this either. how do you stop these nasty women. ?

I dont see why you have to teach them to be nice. that is human nature to treat patients, families, etc with respect, like you would want them to treat your family if they were in the hosp. some people are just nasty, and no amount of teaching will change them. they are the ones going into the wrong field.

where I work it is horrible, the backstabbing, running to the head nurse with gossip, having to look over your shoulder all the time, etc. head nurse favorites and they get all that they want.

I know the feeling as i am also burned out and sick of all the bull where i work. I probably will be quitting in 2 weeks, as it isn't worth it health wise. you become a nurse to help people, but when you have to deal with all the backstabbing, cut throat nurses, poor staffing, harressment, and discrimination, it isn;t worth it. best thing to do is get out, while you have your sanity.

if you like the ocean, virginia beach is nice and you are near the ocean and the mountains aren't to far. good luck

yes, i am a new yorker and if i could go back to ny I would. please don't come to virginia, especially richmond. For a small city the crime is horrible. i can expect it in ny cause of the size. also the south is prejudice from what i have been through. they really dont like yankees, and will let you know it. the pay is horrible. yea the cost of living isn't too bad, but you dont make much here.I often wish I could go back to ny but family doesn't want to move back. Virginia is a pretty state but that is all they have going for them. please think it over carefully, ok. good luck

It would be sad if they did that, as the rn's are not going to do meds and charting, etc, and be in charge. they have the lpn's to do meds and pt care. it would never work. the rn's would be quitting fast. lpn's do alot to help the rn;s, so i don't see how they can even think of doing this.

everyone makes mistakes. you have to read things carefully, but i don't think there is a nurse that exists that hasn't made a error in the meds.I myself gave someone , another persons meds, and took it so hard, but we are not perfect. we try to do our best, but it happens. this patient was ok, and not harmed by it, but i felt awlful for weeks. They didn't let you graduate? What will you do now? is there any way you can speak to the person who was involved with the firing, and maybe they can give you some advice to help you. good luck.

wow, this is horrible. these meds were ordered for a reason and they should have gotten them. be aware though if the don finds out you reported her, you could be let go, after awhile. You will make a mistake and you will be out of there. not only will this worker be involved but also the don. I don't blame you for being upset, but think before you act. will the others also go along with you. I sure wouldn't want this person working for me.

you need to observe this person and you will know. people can't put on a front indefinite. how does this person treat co workers and patients. this will tell you alot.

you should not let others determine what you do. if you like that , then go back and do it. It is normal to be scared, but you can do it. You did it before. you don't have to be perfect, no one is like that. the important thing is you like it and im sure your patients will apppreciate the care you give them. co workers can be mean. i know i have come home so depressed some days, but we are in this job to care for people and we shouldn't let nasty co workers influence us. good luck, you will be ok.

I am sorry you had to leave the job cause of all the bull. This goes on alot at many places. Nurses just dont seem to bond. Its a really fake profession among staff. they smile in your face, and stab you in the back quick. New nurses, etc should be encouraged and supported. Where i work though i noticed we have some new ones and they come with this attitude i know it all, and you dont have to tell me anything, which is not right, especailly just going to a new job. Not saying all new nurses do this, but it sure makes it hard on someone who has been in a job for years and they are trying to teach a new person., and get this attitude in return. I think all nurses should support one another and really bond.
