No hospital experience
Hi there. Dont lose hope. I graduated 2009 and was also working in callcenter. I also got promoted to tl and then sme but i got tired of it. Maybe i knew in myself that i can do better than answer calls and listen to other people's **** so i really tried my luck last year and fortunately was able to get myself a voluntary work at vluna general hospital. Maybe you can go there because theyre holding exams for those who are interested to get free training and actually theyre conducting exams this month so better go there now.

St. Luke's Global City Training 2012.
Hi! I did that i think 2011. Final interview for ancillary nurse and if im right, its with the gastro dept. unfortunately, i wasnt able to pass that. Haha. But the interview is just the same for any interview but the difference is that theyre going to ask if youre familiar with the procedures done in that dept. good thing i took a brochure while waiting to be called so i took advantage of the time and read the procedures listed. But i think theyre really particular with the experience because i didnt really have anything at all and though i got good grades and excellent board rating result, i wasnt able to get it. But thats just my presumption. I dont mean to demotivate you or anyone. Maybe luck's just not on my side or maybe its not for me at all. Btw, its a panel interview from my experience, and it will be like a hotseat interview because i think there were 10 people who were asking me questions. It started with a generic tell me about yourself, why slmc, the things you could contribute and i forgot about the rest haha then they proceeded to the procedure. If my memory is correct, i explained about egd. You should be able to tell them the materials needed, what its for, the method, before-during-after care. Everything about the procedure and you should be able to answer their follow up questions. I hope this helps. :)

Hospital hiring
No because upon learning about the training fee i didnt listen to the rest of what the lady was sayin. Maybe you can try to contact them. Funny how these so called high end hospitals still ask for training fees.

Hospital hiring
I think it started the week i went there. Last year i was able to took the exam but unfortunately to be able to get hired there, you should be able to hit the 80% mark and sadly i was only able to get 70-80. They didnt tell me the exact score but they said that i was eligible for a retake but i still have to wait for their text or call but that was way back june last year and when i called them earlier this month, they just told me to pass another application which i did but to my dismay they are now asking for a training fee. So there.

Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center. Sometimes it really pays to do some researching. Hi google. :) anyway, the exams there are usually conducted during mondays and wednesdays. You just have to go there and log your info. The good thing is that you can choose the date of your exam. Its just the whole month of may though.

The Medical City 2013
Hi there. I dont actually have the answer to your question. Hehe. Sorry. But i just want to ask if youve already taken the exam and how long did it take for you to be informed by them that youre going to take it. I passed my resume and board rating there last week and they told me that theyre just going to call me about the exam or what not but until now, still got no response.

Hospital hiring
Hi. For the 4th time, i went to medcity to try my luck there after going to cardinal. To my surprise, they asked for my resume and board rating unlike before that they just instruct people to write down their names on their logbook. I went there last week so maybe you can try going there too. Btw, with regards to cardinal they are now asking for a 10k training fee for 3mos. And i think stlukes is always open based on some threads here. So goodluck to us. :)

Hi people. Im actually undergoing the training at afpmc right now. There's a qualifying exam on may but if you have a backer, even if you dont pass the exam, i even know some people who didnt took the exam. Just the interview. Im fortunately one of those who doesnt have a backer. :) just go there and if you pass the exam you will then be advised to complete the requirements.

How to be a Registered Nurse-Midwife in the Philippines?
And btw my cousin took that exam. She's an RN RM now. She's from feu and now she's in Norway. So don't give us that "nope sorry nurses" crap ok? Maybe you're just so unfortunate to be denied by PRC and you try to discourage other RNs from taking the exam. *mope mope*

How to be a Registered Nurse-Midwife in the Philippines?
Maybe you and your colleagues WERE denied but it doesn't mean that nurses can no longer take the midwifery boards. Why are they accepting the requirements and interviewing nurses in the first place ? You even said that you've undergone the same process but unfortunately you weren't able to pass it. You said it like it's absolut that prc doesn't allow rns to take the midwifery boards. And it's just so funny that you replied to the crab mentality thing. Were you hit? :)

How to be a Registered Nurse-Midwife in the Philippines?
And btw, to those of you who are from Manila and would like to complete their cases in lying in centers, you have to construct a letter of request and address it to *****, acting city health officer. Go to the city hall, the middle part or you can just ask people there to direct you towards the Manila health department. And then go to the records section. Someone will accept your letter and will instruct you to write your contact number so they can contact you once your request is approved which may take a week as per the lady who received my letter. You have to secure 3 copies. I also asked if I get to choose the lying in but the lady told me to wait until they contact me so there. There goes everything that I know based on what I've gone through the whole day which btw is super stormy. :)

How to be a Registered Nurse-Midwife in the Philippines?
Alright. As promised I went to prc earlier. So many would be teachers and seamen were there. I went to window 9 of the application department and the lady there gave me the guidelines:BASIC REQUIREMENTS:1. NSO birth certificate2. Tor3. Passport size pic with name tag 4pcs4. Cedula5. Exam fee- 600other requirements:1. Prc Id2. Board cert3. Cert of consent (from the affiliated hospital; lying-inns etc)4. Record of deliveries handled5. Cert of trainings/ seminars of supervising RM6. Prc ID license and employees' ID of both supervising RM and certifying officerstraight from the list which the lady gave me to have it photocopied. So there is no mention of having to take the midwifery curriculum or ladderized students. :) so if I were you people I won't just believe other people just because they said so. You can go to prc window 9 application department. The purpose of this thread is to help fellow RNs with their queries particularly taking the RM exam and I just can't believe that even here crab mentality is rampant. Very Pinoy huh? :)
