Get yourself a large day-timer-ish calendar so you can write out everything tht you need to do for the week. and plenty of sticky notes. It's helping me so far. It is extremely overwhelming. I'm only in week 3 and I'm still trying to keep up. Best of luck!
Me too. Find the best spot,prep it, and go right in. DO NOT BE TIMID! it's going to hurt them. the needles are huge. if they don't feel anything...well kudos to them for having tough skin. If you don't use lidocaine, talk to their Nephrologists about maybe prescribing the pt EMLA cream. it's basically a lidocaine numbing cream. i hear its amazing
Many of the patients at my unit use 14g. We have about 20 pts who currently use 14g with the button hole needles and the rest use sharps. Most of them have great clearance...but as with anything it's what they do at home that hinders perfect numbers
