  1. I found that getting together with class mates helped me a lot and especially it helped set everything in stone. My program has tutors, if yours doesn't I suggest asking for help, they always told is if you ask for help then it shows that you want to succeed, they're not going to come to you because they want the student to have the initiative to succeed and better themselves. Also there are TONS of YouTube videos, some of my class mates benefited from watching tons of those videos, at least find one that helps and you can understand and watch it over and over. If your interested I have some notes I can email to you that I have that sort of makes things easier...you've made it this far, and it is possible. I've seen people do it, you just have to be confident in yourself!! :)
  2. So I just got back from picking up my books, 20 total including drug guide, dictionary, and a few study guides..and just llooking at all of them kinda scares/stresses me out. Anyone have any advice for the first day and how to not become so overwhelmed.. Any advice helps :)
  3. I have about 20, including the dictionary, drug guide, and study guides.
  4. Anyone else getting excited? Nervous? Anything?
  5. Our program comes with an internet based program that has thousands of different NCLEX questions. I've heard its really awesome! :)
  6. I start my first week of LVN school on Monday (27) and I was wondering from some who are already in or who have graduated if there are any specific MUST haves or other supplies that were really helpful/essential for the classes. Anything helps! :)
  7. I'm planning on having a regular like tote bag for my clinicals, but I'm in search for one for daily use. Im going to have a lot of books and am looking for a bag that will withstand all that weight and use. :)
  8. I'm starting nursing school and I wanted to get some advice on which backpack would be best. Ones with or without wheels. I was interested in the zuca bag, but would prefer some feedback about someone who has used it. Any advice helps! Thanks in advance! :)
  9. I'm so so so excited! Just gotta finish getting the rest of the uniform
  10. Is anyone else getting excited/nervous for class to start!?! Haha :)
  11. Here in Texas its a 12 month program, $5,500 and I got in my first try. Just had to make a 69% or higher on the TEAS. Not many applied and a lot dropped so almost everyone that applied and stuck with the paper work got in. Good luck!
  12. 1. I'm not sure when I start yet (orientation on July 12) && NCTC LVN Program 2. 1 year. Monday-Thursday 8-4 3. I want to be an rn but decide to go Lvn then transition to rn and be able to work while doing so. 4. $5,500 :)
  13. Then maybe you'll meet someone at orientation! && at least if Z gets accepted you'll have him...I'm all alone lol Im reallllllllly excited too! I just have one varicella shot left! :)
  14. Lol you'll find someone at orientation most likely! No worries. But yeah I have one more varicella and my whole packet is done. So ready for it to be done and for orientation :) haha
  15. How's everyone doing on their packets? I'm almost done and have two shots left!
  16. Good luck!!!
  17. For me it was earlier than expected. Our cut off date for testing was April 13 and I got my letter Friday in the mail...barely two weeks. I thought I did horrible on my TEAS. Did y'all have to take the science? I did one point worse than my friend that applied at a different campus and they didn't get accepted so I was really shocked, but really excited at the same time. I'm taking my CPR class soon, trying to arrange shots etc for tomorrow. Hoping it all settles out :)
  18. Congrats on getting accepted! I'm from Decatur but going to Gainesville (I have family there) I'm really excited and nervous! I have to get my meningitis shot, t.b. test and a titer for the chicken pox. They told us that they wouldn't accept anyone that hasn't had their 2nd hep b shot by July. But idk?
  19. Awesome! I'm from Decatur/Gainesville
  20. I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today for fall on the Gainesville campus! Anyone else going there? I wanna meet some people before I start, make things a lot easier! :)
  21. I took A&P 1 last semester and 2 this semester. The teachers are really easy going, and if you can get your hand on the old tests it makes studying a lot easier. (If its Crump and Klement) The labs are mostly memorization, and the last test for lecture is take home...that is if its the same as regular semesters. Hope this helps!
  22. I was just wondering if anyone else got accepted to the NCTC LVN program. I got my letter today for the Gainesville campus, and wanted to find someone else too, that way I know someone before hand :)
  23. I got accepted to the LVN program in Gainesville, got my letter today. But our tests were due by March 23 the first time then they extended the date to April 13 and they sent out an email saying that not enough people made high enough scores so they advised some to retake it...I took it twice and I got in. but anywho..just saying lol

I'm scheduled to take my TEAS test tomorrow..I haven't been able to get a study guide, and am only taking this test with a few days to study...Anyone have any websites that are good study tools, tips on what to expect, and anyother advice that might help! Also I am applying for the LVN program at NCTC and I was wondering how do you know if you need your Hep B shot...I got it when I was a baby, does that still count? Thanks! -taylor.
