it's a diagnosis presentation. We were given the diagnosis ( ineffective thermoregulation) and had to come up with the rt and AEB parts, implementations, and goals. Our assignment is to just present it to our class so we can become familiar with some nursing diagnosis. I used my mosbys nuring diagnosis guide book to come up with my implementations for hypothermia. And took mine directly out of the book. we're only 3 weeks into school, so our teachers aren't really wanting the whole pathopysiology aspect of it. Thanks for the suggestions and feedback everyone. Thanks for the suggestions. I have changed my diagnosis to ineffective thermoregulation, hypothermia RT fluctuating environmental temperature AEB mild shivering, reduction in body temperature below normal range and cyanotic nail beds. I will be taking my patients vitals for interventions. Her bp will be high along with her respirations and heart rate; her temp will be 92 degrees ( she has mild hypothermia) I'm going to draw a thermostat and be like " let's make sure the thermostat is set at 72* f. I'm always going to explain to her the reason why she needs to eat an adequate amount of carbs and 8-10 glasses of water.... I'm going to have an electric blanket wrapped around her, hat on, blue nails and lips and make her face look pale. that's what I've came up with. Oh I'm going to use either the snow storm story or she fell in a frozen pond while trying to ice skate. Does any of this sound better or worse than my original plan?

Hello, So, I have my first nursing diagnosis due on wednesday and we also have to present it to the class. My teacher is all about creativity!!! So basically we have to "act out" or present our nursing diagnosis. My diagnosis is Ineffective thermoregulation, hypothermia r/t illness AEB mild shivering and reduction in body temperature below normal range. My interventions are to take vitals every shift and PRN, maintain a constant room temp of 72*, and to promote adequate nutrition and hydration. Im going to use a classmate as my patient who has hypothermia..... she will be wrapped in a blanket with a hat on to keep her warm, might paint her nails blue to show cyanotic nailbed and maybe maker he lips look blue. My question is, how can I be creative with these interventions? I'm trying to think outside the box here, but I'm not having much luck? Any suggestions would be helpful! :)

Hello. I have my first fundamentals test tomorrow and I'm going over the end of the chapter questions and I am a bit confused to the the answer to one. Granted, the teacher told us that there are "typos" in the book. the question is asking if it is considered invasion of privacy if you talk about a patients diagnosis without stating their name. The book days this is considered oo. Help me understand

the first time I quit I used Chantix. The second time out of will power! I would recommend Chantix; it really helps! I stupid and started smoking a year after I quit with chantix, but that was my own stupidity.

Sorry, I don't have any. I was only allowed to access my practice tests twice. I disagree with the above poster.... I thought the test was pretty hard granted I've been out of school for eight years. I had to really study to pass the science portion of it. Good Luck!

I have a MDF 777 Stethoscope... Im trying to find the small ear tips for it? Can't find online where to get the one's specifically for MDF brands.... Any advice?

I start in the fall and I think I've finally made up my mind! I think in going to buy the MDF 777 in the color purple rain :) it was between the littmann classic 2 SE and this one!

Hello! I'm starting nursing school in the fall and I'm trying to decide on a stethoscope. I originally wanted the cardiology 3 but it is too expensive for me. So now I'm trying to narrow it down to the MDF 777 or the littmann classic 2 SE. Which one is better? Any other recommendations? I definately want one that is single tubed with double heads. Thanks

Hi my LPN program starts on October 1st. It is for 12 months. It is Monday - Friday 8:30 to 3:30 everyday. I want to bridge over after I complete the Lpn program. Wanted to get my lpn first so I could work while bridging. The cost of my tuition and books is $9500.

I would say that you have to make a 70% to be considered. That's how it was when I took the TEAS; had to make a 70%. They probably meant that they look at the national average scores and that's how they come up with the 70%.
