  1. I totally agree with u. I have seen experience and good guidance making a good nurse if you have the will to be one. Of course, formal education gained should be to help with our practical life and to be a better person.
  2. Hi buddy Personnally speaking, I feel speaking part of IELTS is easier, if not the rest, which you could very well pick up with training. I feel Ielts speaking easier because you are having a face to face question answer model. advantages: they understand u, so though u may babble in the beginning, their demeanor helps you relax. A face to face talk is always better than a telephonic or taped conversation and you are able to give and take responses better as you see nonverbal cues. I also attended to TSE once and could not reach pass mark. Of course, I was tensed and had not prepared much as I was working; but then the same scenario went for me in the IELTS exam and I got with it. for most of the foreign nurses, it is the speaking and listening part that is difficult. So once you get to know the exam style, focus on the weak part. Once again, It is my strong personal belief that speaking part of IELTS is easier than TSE and listening part tougher than TOEFL. Good luck with your decision and preparation. You can definitely pass. Don't give up though it is tough
  3. Sorry to hear what your mother, u and your family went through. It is very difficult to be a medical personnel and know what is really happening to our most loved ones who are everything for us. The ache in ones heart is suffocating. I feel you took the right decision out of love and respect for your mother, though it is very painful. Your family took the right decision too from their point of view. Those who luv deeply feel hurt, but also settle differences and let go. With prayers during your, your mother's and your family's tough time.
  4. thank you very much for the detailed letter. after reading your letter, i understand the steps to working in the us is a lot easier than the way i did. i applied and wrote the cgfns. then wrote the toefl. then tried tse. then tried to find an agency. by that time the two year time period for the validity of english test failed and i had to take ielts ( it was better i did not have to take two separate tests). then applied for visa screen and now i am applying for nclex which require credential evaluation. so it was literally painful and time consuming trying to be able to work here. after reading your mail, i understand it is a lot more simpler. if only i and many other nurses back in my place knew this. what u told was totally new and informative and thank you very much

  6. I prefer working in Cardio vascular and thoracic department as my previous experience was in this area, but willing to work in other departments requiring almost similar skills. The location (Big or Small city) of the hospital does not matter, as long as it is a teaching hospital which concentrates on maintaining high standard of nursing practice, promotes further education and allows good orientation and supervision during probation period. I have 2+ yrs of previous work experince from my home land in Cardio vascular and thoracic nursing, of which nearly 1.5 years in CVTSICU and CCU, the rest is in Cardiology ward. Thank you very much for the help. awaiting valuable reply.
  7. Hi suzanne, I have completed CGFNS, IELTS & Visa Screen. Will be taking RN exam shortly. Can you please guide me to get a good employer to sponser my Green Card. I am on dependent visa (h4) right now. I am looking for job openings in NJ, NY & CT area. Giving preference to South Jersey or North Jersey. Thanks in advance
