  1. @ ngajew01 Hello there... I remembered studying 1-2 topics for at least 6-8 hrs per day. Snacks and rest included. My break time ranges from 5min-30min. Before, I tried answering questions after each topic on the same day but I changed it half way through my study plan because it wasn't working for me. So, what I did was I gathered all my Qbanks and answered it all on my final week. I prefer core content over test taking strat. Good Luck.!
  2. Hello one1morestep, Don't give up on your review ok.? You still have plenty of time to catch up.. Go over your Hurst videos if you have to.. Watching it all over again won't hurt. Good Luck.!
  3. 4000 qs? 94% chance of passing? You really are ready for the exam.. But in spite of all those things, I'd probably answer a few more qbanks, read the rationales and also the AN guide over and over again.. Good Luck.!
  4. Hurst for content and NCSBN for Qbanks (both online). The only book I used was PDA 2nd ed. by LaCharity. Good Luck on your review.
  5. Hello there I had the same question a few months ago. I was thinking if Hurst online or Kaplan on-demand (both online since I can't come at live review). I went with Hurst because I prefer content over Test taking Strat (and it's more cheaper ). I can say that Hurst really boost my core content. They make things a lot easier to understand. As for the Qbanks, they have good ones also. I bought NCSBN 3wks for an additional qbank. I answered both Hurst and NCSBN Qbanks on my last week prior to my exam, and I passed with 75 qs. Good luck to ya, and I hope I somehow helped you on your "predicament"
  6. Hello there.. I also failed my first take and I admit that I didn't study hard enough for that one. For my second take, I allotted 1 and half months to study. I enrolled at Hurst Online and watched every videos. I also bought NCSBN 3wks for back-up on my content and of course their 6Qbanks. I have lots of books but I only used PDA by LaCharity and I answered chapter 1- 18 and a few case studies. On my last week prior to exam, I answered 6Qbanks from Hurst, 4 from NCSBN, and 1 from Kaplan's QTtrainer (QT7). On the big day, I felt no anxiety at all because I know I'm prepared this time. It took me an hour and half and I passed with 75qs. Don't give-up my friend.. Some of us failed the first time but that didn't stop us from trying again.
  7. Hello again guys.! It's finally official, I passed my exam.. :w00t: Thanks everyone, specially one1morestep and mcunanan for the encouragement and supporting me all the way.
  8. Thanks one1morestep.!
  9. @Sandyfeet Congratulations to yaahh.! - - - - - - - - Hello guys.! I just finished my exam this morning and it stopped at 75. It was kinda weird but I felt good after that exam... And so I watched spiderman (finally after 2 weeks since it hit the cinemas) right after. Got home in the afternoon and tried the PVT "STAT" and got the good pop up.. wewwww... I just hope PVT works for me because I'm not in the US. And that makes me really crazy.. Anyway I'll update you guys once the official result is out... Till then.. God Bless! edit: by the way, I also tried 'NCSBN 3wks' just for the Qbank in my finally week..
  10. June 30 - July 9 Reread and review all previous notes *Ok.. this will be my final week before my NCLEX. I have at least 7 days left. My plan for this week is to bombard myself with Qs. I've estimated the number of questions I can answer and I could get at least 2000 questions. I hope that will be enough. And yes, I'm not gonna give myself a rest day the day before my test. I was thinking I could have all the rest I can have after my exam. hehe Good Luck and God Bless everyone.!
  11. Hello there.. Looks like everybody is busy studying for NCLEX ei. :) Just gonna make my log short this time. June 24 - 28: Maternal and Child Pediatrics *yep that's four days for those two since they are my weak points. June 29: Management and Delegation - - - - - - I didn't answer any Qs in those days cause I was reserving them for my next week. I have 17 days left and I'm getting crazy. I'm going to start reviewing my previous notes now. Hopefully I can answer a lot of Qs on my last 2 weeks.. God Bless everyone.!
  12. Congrats CourtneyH.!
  13. @one1morestep I had the same feeling on my first take. It really felt weird and I kept thinking I wasn't ready. I wanted to resched my exam but unfortunately, I found out that you should at least call them 7 working days (in my country) prior to your exam. So I took the test with "I'm not ready for this" in my head. Results came and so I was right. Anyway, I just wanted to say you did the right thing there. We have to be mentally prepared for this test. - - - - - - - - June 20 Wed: Read AN Study guide the whole day June 21 Thur: Hurst: Ortho N4000: Musculoskeletal 94/124

  15. Congrats QueenE6.! I just wanted to thank you for your post and I really mean THANK YOU. I always felt that not being able to review in Kaplan is a great lost for me. And having access to their qbank, which they say is harder than NCLEX, is a really great help to anyone who can afford it, which unfortunately I cannot. Now, because of your post, I finally got my Kaplan-bug out of my head. I can finally stop visiting their web site over and over again. Thanks again mate.! Have an awesome job hunting out there.
  16. Hey guys, how are you all doing.? I wasn't able to post here lately because I got sick for almost a week. Such bad timing for me.. Though I still tried to study but I wasn't able to concentrate well and it's giving me a headache. So I rested for at least 2 days. Now that I'm recovering, I'll try to catch up with my plan ASAP. My log: June 9&10: Sick June 11: Hurst: Gastronintestinal June 12 Tue: N4000: Gastrointestinal 33/55 Saunders: Gastrointestinal 8/10 June 13 Wed: Saunders: Gastrointestinal 15/22 PDA: Gastointestinal 16/30 Hurst: Neuro June 14&15: Rested - - - - - - - - - - - Good luck to everyone.! Saunders book is a good start. I read somewhere in AN that Exam Cram is a good book also. La Charity (PDA) = big big help. 21. Right..and just like what one1morestep said: Just plan everything.. Planning is always a good start.. Thanks and good luck to all of us.!
  22. Congratulations mommyof2Tees.! :yelclap:
  23. Yep.. I never did study for content that time, which is very wrong for me
  24. Well, for me that means you'll need test taking strat.. BUT, that's just what I think. (trying to be safe here). The first time I took my NCLEX I failed cause I only did answer loads of Qs. Sadly, my content was weak and didn't know a lot of stuff on my exam. Now Im trying to boost up my content for my 2nd take. I'm still planning to study for TestTkngStrat for my last 2wks though.. Hopefully I pass this time..
  25. Hello MissMedSchool.. I think you should try answering an assessment exam or anything up to 275 items first.. That way you'll know if you lack content or just test taking strat.. It's whether you know a lot of things or just finding a hard time choosing which is which. Good luck to all of us.!
