  1. anyone else starting july/aug?
  2. Best advice to get ahead would be to get your CPR/BLS and try to be a CNA, unit secretary, or tech at a hospital while you're in school.
  3. Try to be open to moving around the country! There IS a nursing shortage.. just not so much in places like California.
  4. I've heard Pennsylvania, North Dakota, Florida are looking for nurses. Moving out of state is probably your best bet!
  5. I am INFP as well. Working with patients actually has made me more extroverted.
  6. I took them through online approved courses. Taking them at SM is super expensive
  7. i applied for this summer and got in while taking patho and pharm. about to finish pharm this month
  8. Samuel Merritt in the Bay Area has no repeat policy --- retake as many times as you want. Their ABSN does have a 60k + price tag. I retook some classes and got in this semester.
  9. PM sent to you ! :) Anyone else in San Mateo June that I missed?
  10. My advice is to go with the aBSN as the opportunity cost of doing the aDN + RN->BSN (3 years) vs aBSN (1 year) is a huge factor. Time is money!
  11. Just sent some PM's to people that I saw were going to be in the June cohort. Let's start that Facebook group!
  12. if i recall correctly bloodbourne pathogens can be found on AHA or Red Cross website. It's 25$ and just a web course. Think it has to do with gloves and body substance isolation but i forget.
  13. get A's in those classes you're retaking. My undergrad GPA was 2.94. I did my prereqs at a JC and got straight A's. Just got into Samuel Merritt ABSN! so it is possible.. just work your butt off.
  14. Ah yeah, I could do a Sunday thing too! I have a buddy who got in the program with me so I'm not really going in blind but I am down to get any advantage I can by forming study groups and the like early! I live in South Bay so holler if you're near!
  15. Anyone in the San Mateo June Cohort want to grab lunch and break the ice? :)
  16. i'm waiting for USF as well before i send in my letter of intent for Samuel Merritt !!
  17. a new D-SLR to fuel my passion for photography :)
  18. I have gotten this even as a pre nursing student. My reasoning is just because I want to start my life after I finish an ABSN in 1 year vs taking 5-6 years to get where I would want to be in the MD career.
  19. 25, starting my ABSN in June :)
  20. I would go with the community college route as I know a few people who work full time while doing Nursing. I guess instead of working you could take care of your family? Just don't expect to be done ASAP, balance is the key.
  21. :) I am glad you are having a good semester !!
  22. Be thankful you didn't get expelled, and try to avoid the person who did the works cited in groups. I agree with Ashley though about talking to your instructor about an extra essay.
  23. Congratulations. It seems like you have a lot to succeed in Nursing school for and I think with your habits you will do great!! Good luck!
  24. Program Type: ABSN Adjusted Individual Total Score: 87.3% ATI Academic Preparedness Level: Advanced Mean - National: 64.3% Mean - Program: 70.6% Percentile Rank - National: 97 Percentile Rank - Program: 94
