  1. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of peds population. Even I become a. FNP, I will never apply for jobs that require me to see the kids. If you’re a parent, you want your kids to be seen by a FNP or a pediatrician? I’m going to do primary care.
  2. Absolutely, pace, Hunter, downstate all you need is 42 credits to graduate. The schools I’m interested are only those in NYC area where you can easily access by public transportation. Sorry, I shouldn’t have said all others.
  3. I have already committed to another school. One thing I need to point out is that the FNP program at NYU requires 12 more credits than other schools in NYC to complete the degree.
  4. Thanks for letting me know. Guess I’m not accepted.
  5. Guess I’m not accepted
  6. Did you hear from them yet?
  7. Hope so. I’m going to call the admission counselor tomorrow. Did you friend who applied for the FNP got the same updated page on her application?
  8. How did she know she got accepted? Im confused
  9. I didn’t get anything.
  10. Please keep me posted if she hears back. ? Please keep me posted if she hears back. ?
  11. Congrats! Do you know anyone who applied to their FNP program? I wonder if they release the decision for all programs at the same time…
  12. I applied for the FNP program nothing is changed on “My info” page. It’s still just my residential address. Congrats on your acceptance!
  13. Hi mrn123, congradulation for the interview. Do you mind me asking how you applied in this hospital? I have applied multiple times online without hearing anything back. I also noticed that they have many openings throughout the year. I am wondering if there is any other way to apply. Thank you so much.
  14. I also thought about this problem when I was considering a per diem job just for relocating back to NYC. However I decided it's not worth it based on the fact that the hours of per diem is not guaranteed while there is no benefit at all as well as I have to pay the union. For the part time position. I was told that I still need to pay $344 biweekly for health insurance and union dues $73 monthly. This is not acceptable at all with all these payments deducted on my paycheck. I will have not much left to pay for my student loans and rent. If you don't mind paying $700 a month for health insurance, you may consider a part time position.
  15. I need benefit. I can't just sit there and wait for them to call me to give me hours. I got bills to pay.
  16. Hi, Can you give me contact information of the recruiter who offered you the medical step down position? They offered me a per diem med surg float pool position. I'm desperately for a full time position. pretty please!!!!! [email protected]
  17. Ironically I am updating my post 2 yrs after. As I said my interview with the nurse manager was in January 2012 with the completion of all reference about the same time. I moved to upstate for a hospital job in April. I did not hear anything back from them at all until early June of 2012. The same recruiter contacted me on the phone and asked me the do the reference again. I told them I was not interested in the position anymore. I felt insulted by the way they handled things. This is ridiculous and unbelievable. Hopefull this is just my personal experience. Good luck everybody.
  18. Hi skyheaven 477, how did it go eventually? Did you get any phone call for further interview or actually an offer? I remember when I was in a job fair in 2009, a Maimonides' representative standing in front of the table while collecting new grads resume said we have no position available at this time, but just give us your resume, we will call you when there is position available. I applied one of positions online about a week ago, this morning I got a phone call, i was asked what positions I am looking for, and my experience. at the end she told me they have no position available at this time, but will call me when they do. I feel so frustrated that I just applied for a position that they posed online a week ago, and now they called me and asked me questions, and told me the same thing that I heard 4 years ago. very disappointed, she could have just told me I am not the one they are looking for. unbelievable, I feel very reluctant to apply for this place again in the future.
  19. one of my classmates worked there as RN. she told us that it is the hospital in nys that offers the highest salary. she made $140,000 with all those overtime, but i don't know how much overtime she exactly did. then another classmate working at LIJ who needed money for her house mortgage immediately applied there and was offered a job. she was so happy about that.
  20. What unit will you work in? if ER, i would not recommend it at all. that's a horrible place to work at. gossip, racism, back stebbing anything you can imagine.
  21. are the practice questions in the ENA 4th edition manual the same as the 150 questions from the CEN website?
  22. Hi Limeric, May i ask what questions you were asked at the interview with the Nurse Recruiter? Thanks
  23. Hi Obsured, Your post is very informative to me. I wonder if you are still working in st francis. Are there any new grad currently having orientation on your floor? Is the orientation still at the same length that you had? I am curious what department of 1 WEST DEMATTEIS is in there? Thanks
