  1. I want to do FNP but for some reason downstate got rid of the FNP program and only has DNP FNP. It was my top choice
  2. Which other schools are you all looking at? Are there any that give you clinical placement?
  3. Yes, I got the letter of acceptance from them on Friday
  4. Hi, I'm currently applying to NYUs FNP program for this Summer. Does anyone know the cost per semester or credit and if there are scholarships available (not FAFSA).
  5. I was only applying to hospitals, but I coincidentally applied to a COVID swabbing site because it was near where I live. That’s where I currently work and have been working for a while now. I continue looking for hospital positions, but none worked out. I’m hoping that because the cases are rising that the hospitals will hire new grads because of an increase in nursing demand. I might be overestimating my chances but as of now that’s what I’m hoping.
  6. I graduated in May with my BSN and immediately began my job search. I currently live in the NYC area and I am unable to relocate yet because I have a lease on my apartment. I want to work in an acute care setting, so I applied to almost every hospital I could think of in the 1 hour driving distance from where I live. I ultimately settled and took a COVID testing job. I keep applying and at this point I applied probably to around 200 hospital positions that I think I might have a chance to get. What should I be doing differently? I rewrote my resume several times over and had others review it. The only idea that I have that might help is to work in a nursing home to gain experience and hopefully that might help. Is there any other route I can be taking to get a hospital job as a new grad in the NYC area?
  7. Does anyone know when is the next nurse residency program? Also, does anyone know of hospitals willing to hire new grads in the Brooklyn area?
  8. Did anyone interview for the periop fellowship at lenox hill?
  9. I hope you get the job soon! I didn't get an offer yet but the recruiter said the nurse manager still did not make a final decision. I hope I get it even if there is a waiting list because it was very difficult to get an interview in the first place. I keep applying to whatever I see but no responses besides this so I really hope it goes well.
  10. ------------------------- interviews for all the fellowship postions or did you first interview with another recruiter?
  11. WOW!. I hope the hiring freeze ends soon. I interviewed recently with a nurse manager, but I have not heard back yet. After you got interviewed by the nurse manager you got offered to be placed on a waiting list? Also, about how long after you interviewed did they place you on the waiting list. How long were you already on the waiting list?
  12. Whoever got an interview, how did you get an interview? I applied to almost every fellowship and I have not heard back from one. I have work experience as a medical assistant and I have a good GPA. Does anyone know what they are specifically looking for or general advice on how to land an interview?
  13. Thank you for the response! I am a new grad trying to use my time effectively while looking for a job. As a new RN in NYC it has been difficult for me to even land an interview. Until the ball gets rolling I'm trying to best prepare myself for my nursing career.
  14. Is it worth becoming a CEN?
