  1. Travel nursing/ agency nursing/ ICU---med/surg gives great bonuses. Work where you'll be happy is the best reward. Don't go for the money as your first priority, you'll just incur undue stress that money can't reverse.
  2. Bullies:angryfire ANYONE HEARD OF EEOC? DON'T PUT UP WITH IT EVEN ONCE OR THEY WILL MAKE YOU THE SCAPE GOAT! SAY, "SORRY WE ALL CAN'T BE PERFECT LIKE YOU!" You're right to keep your mind on the patient. Because that's who ultimately gets hurt! When you're being bullied in nursing it might cause a fatal med error. Report it!
  3. Didn't you hear there is a nurse shortage. Well, you got your big degree, what ya gonna do with it? How bout teach? Encourage new nurses? How about educating nurses not to eat their young(shoot theirself in the foot) by encouraging and continue teaching the new ones how it really is with a little empathy? You're not the follower anymore! Start LEADING!!!!!!!!!!!! :p :p
  4. Imagine you are doing interviewing and what would you want to know about the applicants..."Why should we pick you over other applicants? What have you contributed in nursing? Why did you select this field? Are you ready to kiss life good-bye as you knew it? Do you have all your ducks in a row? Whyy do you want to do this? Why do you think you would benefit patients more in this field over the one you're in now? Are you just looking for money and more money? Do you get along well with doctors? Have you worked surgery before? Etc. What do you know about this field?"
  5. Go top the place you want to attend or call and find out if the're good enough. College counselors are free and you can call one at the place you want to attend. I f they say no, ask another college. I got schollerships though my grades weren't the best.
  6. Instead of focusing on what your patient can't do, FOCUS on what she CAN do! There are five senses. No vision? She can still hear, what do they like to listen to? TV, RADIO, laughter, silence? Taste... What are some of her favorite flavors? Can you get dietary to send her favorites? Touch... I had a friend who was blind as a bat but could feel me hold her hand and brush her hair whenever I went to see her! Can you do that? Smell...Can you bring her a rose or something scented that seems to cause her to take deep breaths? That will encourage deep breathing and reduce complications like pneumonia! If I had a favorite perfume and it wasn't contraindicated, maybe you can spray a little on her pillow and then flip it over so it's not too strong. I used Pleasures intense! Maybe if you can get her to focus on what she does have and that you would go through all that for her then she wouldn't be so depressed.
  7. Go to your EEOC and make a formal complaint against whoever is telling you this. The only people who can demand your passport are legal authority to export you if you have committed a crime. The boss can get a photo copy, but don't give them the real thing!
  8. Prayer should be offered by the chaplain. If the family declines or pt prerequested not to have one then abide by their wishes. It whould be done by someone that believes.
  9. I've never heard of prayer hurting anyone!!!!!!!111
