  1. @sagremus, diarrhea is also a side effect. i used to call dem d 3 brothers. mostly, though not always so, whenever u see nausea n vomitting as a side effect, their brother diarrhea should be around too.........lol
  2. yes mcunanan. i STRONGLY apologise. it is 0.5-2.0ng/ml. it was an oversight. thanks
  3. yeah,3.5 --5.1. that's what i know. besides there is long distance of 3.3, 3.4 between 3.2 and 3.5
  4. shalom to you all, ok, so imagine walking down the street and you meet something frightening that you need to run away from. think of what will be going on in your body as you run away from such that frightening situation ... think of it from your head to your feet. Eye - dilated so you can see clearly and run Lungs - vessels/airway adequately dilated to allow for good ventilation Heart - pumps strongly and releases needed blood to all major organs to aid in your flee Git - this is definitely not the tym to move bowels bladder - this is definitely not the time to pee etc etc. these responses are typical effects of most adrenergics, cardiac glycosides and pos ionotropics. so looking at this you can appreciate why some meds that are good for respiratory conditions like asthma cannot be given to a patient with a cardiac condition. eg; theophylline think of the vagal nerve.....it helps reduce heart rate, but when u r running the git is hypoactive so definitely the vagal nerve is not affecting the heart rate here. and oh remember the popular digoxin too; its a cardiac glycoside that increases myocardial contraction and at the same time reduces the Heart rate. interesting!!! its side effect includes nausea, vomitting, halo around eyes. normal level: 0.5--1.0ng/mL finally, normal therapeutic levels for PACT: 10-20mcg/ml P--phenytoin(dilantin) A--acetaminophine C--cloramphenicol T--theophylline
  5. great info studentdrtobe.
  6. hi, i wud advice you relax. relax your mind, do not be anxious. 3weeks is a lot of valuable time. i advice you not to be reading but be solving questions. considering the time u have left. as you solve questions go over the rationales and use that as your learning. i advice you solve and review 100q from saunders and 100q from kaplan each day. do saunders at a time you fell much relaxed, do saunders at a time you can absorb most. too much learning materials do not always help from my perspective. i believe kaplan gives you the strategy to choose the correct answer from the content you learnt from saunders. take time off between studies and something mind relaxing and go back to studying. you should do fine. Have the best. Shalom!!!!!
  7. As a man is so is his strength. we sure can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. our strength will not prevail, but when we depend on Christ, his strength at work in us causes us to prevail...........................Depend on Christ, you will come out successful. have the best.
  8. He that has begun a good work in you shall surely take you to an EXPECTED end. Have the best..................
  9. @my_purpose i started today. i noticed most people have issues with Pharm, so i decided to step in to make it easy for all. pharm is lovely...........
  10. @lasvegas. you see my dear, a lil bit of anxiety is needful for success. it is ok to be anxious, but one thing u may want to ask yourself is, what is the anxiety producing for you? Staying focus is a decision one has to make. my advice? to get yourself started, do the Kaplan diagnostic test. get to know if u dont know already areas of strength and areas of weakness. WRITE THEM DOWN. you can tackle them in this wise: 1. study and do questions on the areas of strength first and get it over and done with in the shortest possible time 2. commit the rest of your time on the areas of weakness till abt a week to the exams doing lots and lots of questions 3. Fianlly, do a general review. I mostly say that it is not about how much you study but how much you absorb no review is bad no review is good. it all depends on YOU. Make the best out of what you have, you will be FINE....... Shalom!!!!!
  11. Hi, all. Tip for the day. Anticoagulants heparin---given IV-----prevents clot formation----Protamine Sulphate works againt hep Coumadin---Taken per Os------slows clot formation---Vit K works against Coumadin Normal aPPT: 20--36sec when one is on Hep infusion, aPPT increases by 1.5---2.5x normal Normal clotting time (PT): 9.5/9.6----11.3/11.8sec INR: 2--3( for standard Coumadin therapy) 3--4.5( for high dose therapy). Because coumadin slows clot formation, clotting time is prolonged by 1.5---2x normal So usually a client will be started on Hep and weaned off with Coumadin. In prioritizing care, a patient who is due for Coumadin is not a priority cos Coumadin action lasts for about 2-5 days.
  12. First of all you need to understand that worrying never helps and will never help. RELAX!! reading a lot of books may not be helpful. for content i advise you get one book. either you choose a book that explains the content well or a book that summarises the content, depending on how well u grasp when studying. then for questions get questions on prioritization and delegation, questions on direct content recall, and questions on analyzing and application. Then Assess your activities and write down your free periods in a day. Asses when you absorb much in a siting. like in the morning, afternoon, evening or at night. learn at these times. Are you a Christian? then you don't have a problem because you have a Father who is more interested in your SUCCESS!! Lay your cares on him. Now you are ready to go!!! you have yourself to control. NO MATTER WHAT always study and solve questions each day. Memorise 10 lab values each day. Also remember that it is not about how much you have learnt but about how much you have absorbed. May the Good Lord show himself strong and Mighty on your behalf. Have the best....................ellord.
  13. @ nena two heads are always better than one. sometimes u may feel you've done enough learning, but in sharing that is when you are able to assess yourself and also build on your knowledge base. if u dont mind do study or review with others. it will help. i will be glad to help. my skype name is el.lord12. u can come on board. anyone interested can also join in. i know every need will be met. thank you.

  15. hi Jazmin27, i think u r on track and must relax your nerves. you will be fine. some times just try to remember the content off head or rewrite a summary of what you have studied for the day before you sleep. sleep settles memory, you will be fine ok? NCLEX is nothing but an exam, u have the ability to conquer it and you will. have the best, SHALOM!!!
