Ok, so someone must have given up their seat so I am in! I received the call tonight and I have to meet with Sheryl at the North Campus tomorrow morning! I am excited but also nervous as to what the upfront costs are that everyone is talking about... Can anyone share?

Stephanie also told me that letters will be mailed out on 6/11, and I should have mine by 6/15. I've also read on these forums about people getting a phone call, but then again I've read about people not getting a phone call and receiving their acceptance letter in the mail. I ask because I've read that the 9am-12:30pm schedule is only for the summer term. Thanks again for your input!

Could you PLEASE tell me the schedule? I need to know the hours (8am-5pm, etc)? I've been a house wife for two years now so I don't HAVE to work but I do have a three year old and it would be nice to know how many hours I will need to have her in child care (which is expensive).... Thank you.

Yes, I know that JU is a private university - I kinda just wanted to differentiate it against "other private universities" if you know what I mean ;-). JU is my first choice and we will see how that goes in a week or so... eeeeek! If not, I will be registering at Chamberlain and turns out is not as expensive as I thought AND ends up being cheaper than JU ((Crazy)). On their website their is a calculator that gives you your estimated total cost of attendance per academic year, and the cost for me is only $17,749 (after my pell grant)!! I knew the tuition would be reduced since I already have an AA, but I didn't think by that much. Also, I am a military spouse and I believe they offer different pricing for military. I'm also a member of Phi Theta Kappa so I will be inquiring with them about scholarships. So I'm good. I don't even think I will need to take out a loan. ((awesome)) This is an exciting and stressful process all together! Good luck everyone - with everything!

Your right on that as well. Every Concorde in the country seems to be accredited by different agencies. Also it may depend on the universities rules - one may accept and another may not. So much to consider. If Chamberlain credits are transferable, that definitely sets it aside from all of those other institutions. Definitely something to look into. Their BSN program is $85,000 which is insane but I have to admit that I am considering them. I already have an AA which will transfer over, thus reducing my program length and tuition (not sure by how much on tuition just yet). I've tried twice to get into the program at my local college and have been denied one, more than likely this time as well and I graduated with HONORS! I just don't take standardized tests well and can't seem to score high enough. I also applied into JU which is a private state university here (14k per semester) and decision letters will be mailed on 06/11!!! I'm praying I get it! They do not require a test, so it's based on GPA, interview, essay, references, scholarships, etc. If I don't get in I will definitely be looking at Chamberlain because I really don't want to be trying to get in forever ;( Now I know why such schools are so expensive.... -___-

It happens, I honestly don't know how I managed to do so well in school considering everything I constantly had going on. Ehhh maybe luck! LoL Again, I wouldn't be too worried about the GPA because they look at that and so much more. Just keep your faith - NEVER lose that despite the situation you are faced with. I applied and was denied for FSCJ's Spring program due to scoring low on the NAT. I applied with a 180 (something) and the cut off was 194 (something) but the lowest score that was seated was 190 (something). So This time my score is like a 186 (something) and even if the cut off was exactly the same as last term - Im still not in! Mind you my grades alone are 109/120.... Im just not a good standardized test taker.. (Sigh) But keep your chin up - there are options. JU - UNF - FSCJ - SRJCC - Chamberlain - Etc What are your long term educational goals? Are you trying to get a MSN - PHD - etc?

You may be right. I have never gone to Chamberlain but I know last year I was highly considering Concorde for my ADN and because getting my BSN is so important to me, I went to the two major universities in my city (UNF & JU) to see if they would accept credits from Concord for my BSN and I was advised my the director of nursing at both schools that they would not. I obviously opted not to move forward with Concorde for that reason. Concorde is a fully accredited educational institution and are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), a national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Again, I am not saying it isn't possible but she should definitely inquire before hand with the university she intends to get her MSN at. I would have been devastated if I had found out too late and was unable to ultimately get my BSN. It's simply better to be safe than sorry :)

My GPA was only a 3.2 when I applied but I am not really too concerned about that because contrary to belief it isn't solely GPA driven. I have read of people getting accepted with a 2.9. And your right, they look at you as a whole (GPA, Interview, Essay, References, Honors, Volunteer work, etc). I applied into FSCJ but I don't think I am getting in. I can't seem to do as well as I need on the NAT for the life of me! And it really trips me out because I find it so easy (LoL). My grades are great but even with perfect grades you are not gauranteed acceptance unless you score high enough on that test. (Sigh) Anyways, I too think I have a pretty good chance - even though statistically the chances of being accepted into the transfer program is pretty low because they only accept 15 students. I did well on the interview and I am very good at writing soooooo we will see! I am also considering Chamberlain and am meeting with an adviser tomorrow. They have a 3 year BSN program there which is the ONLY reason I am considering them as opposed to other private institutions (Concord, Sanford Brown, etc). They also accept transfer students that already have an AA, which reduces the length to just over two years. Have you tried applying into FSCJ too?

Thank you :) And yes, you are very lucky to have someone willing to work around your schedule. Arms aren't as open as they used to be for nursing students. I find it interesting that your friend got into the summer term, because the interviewer told us that there are no summer classes for the transfer program (Which I wouldn't mind ... hehe) I have a friend that also started at JU in May, but she is doing the accelerated program since this is her second BA. I know for the summer she stated the the times are only as you stated but they change for full to full time something like 8-6pm (ouch). Aaaaaah, I guess we will be finding out soon. Sorry - I meant academic adviser. Again, Chamberlain is not a state school (like a community college or local university) and it is not as easy to transfer credits from "these type" of educational institutions (meaning Chamberlain) as it is with a state college. The OP may transfer from one Chamberlain campus to another, but I highly doubt from Chamberlain to a state university. Please see an academic adviser at the school you are considering getting your master's from.

I'm not so sure about this. You may want to speak with a financial adviser at the school you intend to get your masters at.

Hey there fellow hopefuls! I have also applied for the Fall 2012 program. I have a total of 186 (point something) points which isn't grand. I didn't do as well as I hoped I would on the NAT, my grades are 109/120. The cut off last semester was 194 (point something) and the lowest scored applicant seated was 190 (something). You have to remember that several applicants eventually decline seats due to several reasons from being unable to take day classes, changes in living situations, the upfront expenses related to starting (certifications, shots, etc). So I "Suppose" I have a slight chance, but I am not putting too much thought into it. -__- For the comment above me, yes county does matter. Duval county residents are given first consideration. However I believe 25 seats are set aside each semester for out of county residents. You typically have to score much higher though to be accepted in. At 209, I think you will be fine though.. :) Well, Good luck to you us all!! *I am secretly waiting on my decision letter for JU scheduled to arrive by 6/15... Eeeek!*

I've applied into both FSCJ's program (though I do not think I will be getting in based on my final score vs. past scores) I also applied into JU and should receive my decision letter by 6/15. I think I have a good chance being accepted just based on all the requirements however the applicants to available seats ration is SMALL sooooo eeeeh... Which leads me here, I am trying to explore my options. I refuse to be wait listed for years. I already have my AA so the program will not be as long. My GPA is just under 3.3 and I have yet to take the HESI test.... Could you tell me what it was like? What type of questions were mostly on the math section??? Thanks in advance!!

I received an email from Stephanie stating that letters will go out on the week of June 11th-June 15th and I should expect to see mine on the 15th, I'm guessing due to my location (I live close to the school) Does ANYONE know what the class schedule is like? I can seem to locate the exact info anywhere! The most I read were students who said they were accepted into the early mornings and some said afternoons. I wish there was more info in regards to that. So does anyone know? Thanks so much and good luck to you all! I have faith!!!

I'm supposed to be starting a job soon but am also waiting on acceptance into the fall program (letters sent this week - eeeeeeeek!!!), if accepted I may or may not continue with employment so I really need to locate info on what days and hours the BSN Transfer program usually is. Hey Master! I am also a 2012 Summer Hopeful! Can't believe the time is finally almost here for me to apply. I am finishing up Microbiology as well, with a week left and averaging a "B", chances are that is what my ending grade will be. I have yet to take the NAT and hope I get a relatively good score on that, such as you did. Now in regards to your question, I've read on other threads that your highest scores will be taken. So if you do better on certain areas your second time around, those will be accepted. Hope this helps! :)

OMG - First I would like to say CONGRATS to you all!!!! I am so happy that for some of you the wait is already over, and for other's it will be soon!!! Now, I have two questions and I apologize if this has already been asked and answered. 1. Which classes should I calculate my scores from? I've seen a few different responses and I am a bit confused. 2. How long is the actual program? I can't seem to locate that info online Thanks so much, and congrats again!

Ok, so I have a question. Yesterday I was speaking to a lady that is in my stats class. She completed the RN program in August. We were talking about the PSB-NAT exam and I expressed my concern about it. I would be heavily depending on doing good on it for a chance to get into the program. She told me that if I do not know the answer to a question to skip it, and do not waste time on it. She said that skipping questions do not count against you. She said that the first time she took it, she scored a 58 because she concentrated on answering everything. She said the second time she took it she scored a 95 and that she skipped whatever she didn't know and answered what she did know. Can anyone verify the accuracy on this? I was really surprised to hear that, and of course I am just not sure and I definitely do not want to follow inaccurate information. Thanks, - Glam
